An album can last for a long time. I came into contact with the concept of hifi a few years ago. Compared with MP3, some high-end audio players can play all kinds of lossless sound quality, such as WAV which was first transcribed from CD. At that time, music players that could play this format were not cheap, and the playing effect was better. Although mobile phones can also play various lossless formats through playback software, the built-in playback chip is incomparable to professional music players. I not only sorted out several boxes of CDs I bought when I moved recently, but also the CD player of that year was gone, so I started with a music player, Patriot H05, and slowly sorted out these CDs after moving, turning them into lossless music and reliving the feeling of that year.

Everyone is familiar with this kind of player, but compact mp3 players were rare before. Now, this function is more comprehensive and bigger. Patriot music player H05 adopts large screen design, which is also the trend of player products.

The black body looks very calm, and a knob can be seen at the top, which is the knob for volume adjustment. At the bottom of the front is a touch button, with a total of five touch buttons. This design is very similar to the menu button mode of Android, which is used to control options, confirm, return and menu functions.

At the top of the player, you can see a large volume knob and two headphone connectors, a 2.5mm balanced connector marked with BAL and a 3.5mm headphone connector marked with another headphone icon. After the machine is turned on, the indicator light will light up, and you can know whether the machine is on or off when the screen is open, without repeatedly pressing the key to confirm it through the screen. It can be used after simple setup.

If a memory card is inserted, the machine will automatically scan songs. The interface of the player is divided into two parts, the navigation bar at the top is always there, and the menu content is displayed below the navigation bar. The left side of the navigation bar shows the volume, followed by the earphone connection mode, current time, earphone high and low gain and power. Touch the left and right buttons in front to make a selection, and then press OK to confirm. I have to say that the vibration feedback of this touch button is very obvious. Personally, I feel that the vibration feedback is a bit big.

There are three view styles to choose from in the playback interface. The font of street mode is exaggerated, the screen of menu mode is concise, and each screen of gallery mode only displays one function, which you can choose according to your own preferences. Personally, I prefer the gallery mode, and it would be more perfect if I could customize the icon to display the song cover circularly.

There are many adjustable contents in the setting options, such as automatic or manual song scanning mode, font size, screen saver effect, time and so on. The only regret is that the vibration of the touch key cannot be modified.

Patriot H05 playback settings can be fully adjusted. The output option can be headphones, and line out is suitable for different devices. EQ has eight built-in styles, and three sets of personal settings can be customized to meet the needs of different listening senses. Moreover, the high and low gains can be adjusted for headphones with different impedances, so that different headphones can exert maximum power. DSD gain compensation, LR rising balance and digital filter are all customized functions for professional enthusiasts, which can be adjusted according to their own preferences and equipment types.

In terms of audio format support, in addition to the common audio formats such as mp3, m4a and aac, it also supports lossless audio formats such as flac, ape and wav, which basically covers various audio formats. Next, let's talk about hearing. Now people listen to songs on their mobile phones. Let me compare, the iphone 6 only has a 3.5mm headphone single-ended interface. Let's import some songs with different styles to test them. Iphone 6 uses its own music playback software, while Patriot H05 does not use any EQ settings to play music. I usually listen to all kinds of songs. Compared with listening to various styles of songs, the obvious feeling is that the resolution is improved. Using Patriot H05 player, you can hear more details, such as some background timbre, and the layering is also obvious. If I listen to a sound source with high recording quality, the effect will be better.

Compared with the 3.5mm single-ended interface, the balanced end interface can effectively eliminate noise and make the played sound cleaner. I replaced the headphone cable with a 2.5mm balanced end connector, which is really a drop in the bucket. The separation, layering and sound field of the sound have been obviously improved, the sound is cleaner and the human voice is so close to the ear. A good player also needs good headphones and wires to get a better sound experience.

The playing interface can be the cover of the song, but it needs to be set by computer software first. If there are dynamic lyrics, they can also be displayed. I didn't expect it would be perfect if the cover and lyrics could be switched back and forth like various playback software.

Patriot H05 can be used not only as a player alone, but also as a DAC, and can be connected to a computer as a sound card of the computer. You only need to manually switch USB mode to DAC mode. When the computer is connected, the audio player will be automatically recognized as a sound card. After connecting the computer, the interface of the player will display the DAC icon and the code rate value of 0KHz/0Bits. If you play an audio picture casually, the parameter will be changed to 32kHz/24Bits, which is the default value. If you want better sound quality, you need to manually adjust the selection in the sound settings. You can choose 352.8KHz/24Bits at most, but there may be playback problems. Just choose 192KHz/24Bits directly.

Patriot H05' s 4-inch screen has a good visual effect, but it is very easy to click on the screen. After all, it's hard not to feel that this is a touch screen device. The touch buttons at the bottom are sensitive, but the vibration feedback is a bit heavy. I wish I could set my own vibration feedback. The back button and menu button are a little hard to press. 3000 mA has been used for a long time, and the type-c interface charging is also very convenient. 2.5mm balanced port and 3.5mm single port can use different headphones. Moreover, the playback settings can also comprehensively set the gain, digital filtering, EQ, DSD gain compensation and LR channel balance of headphones, with rich functions and excellent performance.
