1. Click "Insert-Movie and Sound-Sound in File" in turn, select the file to be used as background music in the "Insert Sound" dialog box that appears, then click "OK" and click "Auto" in the pop-up dialog box to insert the music object.

2. click the inserted sound object (speaker icon) with the right mouse button, and select "custom animation" in the pop-up shortcut menu. In the task pane of "custom animation" that appears, click the next arrow to the right of the music option just inserted, and click "effect option" in the menu that appears.

3. in the pop-up "play sound" dialog box, in the "effect" tab, select "after (F):XX slides" under the item "stop playing" (XX is a number in the middle), and enter an appropriate number in the number increase or decrease box in the middle. The number can be set according to the total number of slides. For example, there are 49 slides, so you can set it to 5, so that the set number of slides will not be reached until the end of the slide, so the sound will not stop. If the inserted sound file is short, you can switch to the "Timing" tab and select the item "Until the end of the slide" in the drop-down list box after "Repeat", so as to avoid the situation that there is no background music after the presentation because the sound file is too short. Also, don't forget to switch to the "Sound Settings" tab and check the "Hide sound icon during slide show" item, so that the speaker icon will not be displayed during the show.

4. At this time, show the slide show again, and see if the function of background music has been realized.

Method 2:

1. Click "Slide Show-Slide Switch" at the beginning of the slide where you want to use background music.

2. in the slide switch task pane that appears, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the sound option, and click "other sounds ..." in the list box that appears.

3. in the "add sound" dialog box that appears, select the sound file to be used as background music, then click the "ok" button, and then return to the "slide switch" task pane to check the "loop until the next sound starts" option.

Note: 1. The first method supports many types of sound format files, but the sound files are not embedded in the document. 2. At present, the second method only supports. wav type sound files, so the finished document will be relatively large, but the benefits are also obvious. After the setting is successful, PowerPoint will automatically embed the sound files, so you don't have to worry about the background music files even if you move the document to another machine.
