On August 7th, 1983, Sun, deputy commander of the second brigade of the air force test flight group, took off from Dalian Airport, Liaoning Province and flew to the K 16 base in Seoul, South Korea. He took advantage of the test flight opportunity to fly the test flight group's No.045 J-7II fighter (developed and modified the British Marconi radar for J-7M). This defection created a double record of the highest position and the latest model among the defectors who flew the plane.

Sun, born in Fengxiang, Shaanxi Province, graduated from 1937 primary school, 1953 Fengxiang county middle school and 1956 Shaanxi Normal University. In August of the same year, he joined the Air Force as the first flight cadets selected from local schools (Gao Youzong was also in this group). He studied in the Second Aviation Preparatory School, the Sixth Aviation School and the Advanced Aviation School (1 1 Aviation School), and served in the Sixth Aviation Division and the 46th Aviation Division. During the Cultural Revolution, because of his father's background, he was confined and sent to May 7th cadre school to work. Later, he worked in the 22nd Air Force Factory. 1975 went around and was elected. Total flying hours 1200 hours (claimed). At that time, there were mother Liu, lover, 18-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter at home.

At the beginning of May, 1983, as a member of the test flight team, Sun was sent to Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport to carry out the J -7M test flight. Sun has been making specific preparations in the dark, accurately calculating the eastbound flight route, taking Dalian to the air turning point for test flight, and remembering the distance and orientation of the turning point to South Korea in detail. Every detail of the planning process is rehearsed repeatedly in my mind. In the test flight mission on August 5, the plan was defected, but it could not be implemented because of insufficient oil, so we had to land quietly according to the original mission and wait for the next opportunity.

At 6: 438 pm +3: 50 pm on August 7, Sun flew the plane again to perform the task, and Sun took off with his colleagues. When the tower informed him that he could enter the transition directly, Sun looked at the fuel meter to make sure that the fuel was enough to fly to South Korea, so he immediately began to carry out the defected flight. First, turn off the answering machine quickly, press and hold the call button of the radio communication system, so that the wingman can't talk to the tower (the two planes share a channel to contact the ground), then turn the nose around and make an emergency descent and turn, and the altitude of the plane drops sharply from the original 8000m to1500m, and at the same time, deliberately and urgently shout: "Smoke in the cockpit! Smoke in the cockpit! " So that air traffic controllers thought the plane was out of order. When the plane continued to descend to a height of 500 meters, it shouted, "No! I'm going to skydive! " Then stop answering, then stick to the sea and fly to South Korea at high subsonic speed. After flying over 15 minutes, in order to save fuel, climb to 6000m again.

14 p.m. 13 p.m., the South Korean side found the 45 J-7II coming at a high speed and immediately issued an air raid alarm. In the afternoon 14: 33 (Seoul time: 15: 33), Sun Qintian landed at K 16 Air Force Base in Seoul on No.045 J -7II, and immediately lifted the alarm.

As Sun served as the deputy head of the Air Force's test flight group, he was very familiar with the development of the aviation industry. In order to prevent the recurrence of the 1967 incident, some combat troops of the Taiwan Air Force were ordered to stop taking vacations before Sun arrived, and the pilots entered the airport for standby. At the same time, meteorological units closely monitor the meteorology of Liaodong Peninsula and the eastern coast of the mainland, and intelligence units also closely collect the activities of military aircraft in the coastal areas of the mainland, assuming various possible situations and formulating various preventive tactics.

On the morning of September 1, it was held in the "National Army Art Activity Center" and was presided over by General Hao Baicun, the "Chief of Staff". Sun Qintian, an anti-communist righteous man, announced his departure from China and awarded the rank, medal and bonus to the colonel. Sun arrived in Taiwan on August 24th and got 72,000 yuan of gold, which was equivalent to NT$ 654,380+0.2 billion according to the international gold price at that time (the current gold price in RMB is about RMB 37.5 million). He joined the Air Force of Taiwan Province Province and was awarded the rank of Colonel.

Sun married a musician who also defected from the mainland in Taiwan Province on August 2 1984 and emigrated to Canada after retiring.

In addition, in the process of defection, Sun was even more unscrupulous and even greeted him by radio. What is even more infuriating is that after Sun defected, he left an "Open Letter to the Party" with more than 20,000 words, which was impressively placed on the desktop of the dormitory!

Sun not only flew away a most advanced plane of our army at that time, but also took away an important scientific research project "by the way". This is not only a question of political influence, but also involves military leaks! How dare you take it for granted? Army leaders must report quickly. It is rare for a pilot's defection to cause such a big response in the upper level!

The Sun incident was kept secret from the press, but it caused an uproar in the army. Sun is a member of the air force, but a few months ago, he was transferred from the air force to the navy to help delay the flight of a new type of missile. Here comes the trouble. Whose fault is the accident? Who is in charge? Sun was conducting a test flight for the navy, and he was taken care of by the navy. However, what happened in the navy, Sun was wearing "blue pants". After all, he is a member of the air force. He has been in the air force for decades and has only been in the navy for a few days.
