Shan Liwen is an excellent musician and one of the best bassists in Hong Kong. In 1983, he became a member of the heavy metal rock band Chyna. Later, the Chyna band broke up. In 1986, Shan Liwen formed a group with Huang Liangsheng and Su Dehua. Blue Jeans (Blue Warrior), is the soul of the "Blue Warrior" band.

In 1986, Shan Liwen made his debut on the screen, playing the role of Ah Piao in the movie "The King of Fortune" directed by Liu Zhenwei.
