It was founded in 1968 and is currently located at the foot of Dongxian Peak and the east end of Nanshi Road, covering an area of ??more than 50 acres. The school currently has 72 faculty members, 73% of whom have intermediate and senior professional titles; there are 20 teaching classes with nearly a thousand students. The school once led the way. In 1991, the Dongyang City Youth Military Academy was first established; later, the labor and technical teaching was applauded in the province, and many students’ small inventions and small creations were awarded national patents; the "Dongxian Peak" Literary Society adheres to Lu Zhai's legacy of "poetry and etiquette". Legacy has won the second prize in the national school magazine competition; in 2002, it was awarded the "Advanced Unit for Promoting Citizen Ideology and Morality" by the Propaganda Department of the Jinhua Municipal Party Committee and other units; the school has excellent sports performance and is a traditional sports (track and field) school in Jinhua City.
