The Central People's Broadcasting Station is a national radio station and is both authoritative and and influential comprehensive media organization, its English name is CHINA NATIONAL RADIO ("CNR" for short).

The Central People's Broadcasting Station began broadcasting on December 30, 1940, formerly known as Yan'an Xinhua Broadcasting Station; it was officially named the Central People's Broadcasting Station on December 5, 1949.
