Samsung i5820 supports MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA and other formats.
MP3 is an audio compression technology, the full name of which is Audio Layer III of Moving Picture Experts Group, or MP3 for short. It aims to greatly reduce the amount of audio data. Using the technology of MPEG Audio Layer 3, music is compressed into files with smaller capacity with the compression ratio of1:1even 1: 12. However, for most users, the sound quality played is not obviously reduced compared with the original uncompressed audio. It was developed at 19 1 by Flawn Hof-gesell Research Institute in Hellem.
AAC (Advanced Audio Coding), which is called "Advanced Audio Coding" in Chinese, appears in 1997 and is based on MPEG-2 audio coding technology. It was jointly developed by Flawn Hof IIS, Dolby Laboratories, AT&T, Sony and other companies to replace mp3 format. In 2000, after the appearance of MPEG-4 standard, AAC re-integrated its characteristics and added SBR technology and PS technology. In order to distinguish it from the traditional MPEG-2 AAC, it is also called MPEG-4 AAC. Advantages: Compared with lossy formats such as MP3, AAC format has better sound quality. Disadvantages: AAC is a lossy compression format, and there is an "essential" gap in sound quality compared with the popular lossless formats such as APE and FLAC. In addition, the faster transmission speed of USB3.0 and the large-capacity MP3 with 16G or more are accelerating popularization, which also makes AAC's "small" aura disappear.
AAC+ is also called HE-AAC. He means "high efficiency". HE-AAC is a mixture of AAC and SBR technology. SBR stands for spectral band replication. The key of SBR is to provide full bandwidth coding at low bit rate without generating redundant signals. Traditionally, low bit stream audio coding means reducing bandwidth and sampling rate (see MP3 FAQ #7) or generating unpleasant noise signals. The solution of SBR is to let the core code encode the low frequency signal. SBR decoder generates high-frequency signals and some pilot signals by analyzing low-frequency signals (usually the bit stream is extremely low, 2 kbps). This is the reason for using SBR-free decoder, so your bandwidth (frequency response) will be seriously wasted. This is why it is called band duplication, which only increases the bandwidth of audio, not reconstruction.
Eaac+ format is the best music format for the new generation of mobile phones. Eaac+ has an extension of M4A. It can approach the sound quality of CD and occupy less storage space than MP3 format.
WMA(Windows Media Audio) is a new audio format introduced by Microsoft, which is as famous as MP3 format. Because WMA surpasses MP3 in compression ratio and sound quality, and is far superior to RA(Real Audio). Even at low sampling frequency, it can produce good sound quality. Usually, WMA is used as the extension of files with Windows Media Audio encoding format, and WMA is also used as the extension of some pure audio ASF files, and all the contents of these files are encoded with Windows Media Audio encoding format.
The full name of Ogg should be ogg Vorbis, which is a new audio compression format, similar to MP3 and other music formats. But the difference is that it is completely free, open and patent-free. The sound quality of OGG VOBIS is comparable to MP3. Some mobile phones support APE and FLAC lossless audio compression coding. Forgot, there is the wav audio file format developed by Microsoft.
