The play tells the story of Zhao Shi, the hero, who "accomplished nothing" but insisted on his dream of drawing cartoons alone. The characters in his works are divorced from the dreamy and beautiful inherent images in general comics, and the color matching is somewhat exaggerated. Such cartoons are hard to be recognized by ordinary people and hopefully sent to the publishing house, but they are ridiculed by editors. Even his parents and brother find Zhao Shi's cartoons boring.
Frustrated, Zhao Shi didn't give up his dream until he reunited with Phoenix, his first love as a student. This job, which everyone calls boring, made Ai Feng laugh her eyes out. Zhao Shi, who had never been affirmed, gained hope.
Finally, Zhao Shi's works are appreciated by more and more people. Even when he can't stop loading and take a vacation at will because of readers' expectations, Zhao Shi, who is loved and encouraged, has the trouble of being trapped by popularity. But when he saw that he had become the envy of unsuccessful classmates, he thought that his motivation for painting was to hope that his cartoons would bring laughter to people. Zhao Shi once again found his initial heart and had the motivation to move on.
