The four members at that time were lead singer Wang Xiaoou, guitarist Li Pei, bassist Yang Lei and drummer Nishino. Because I love the American band RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, I named my band "Twisted Machine", with a hardcore style. After three years of tempering, I finally released the band's first album of the same name on Howl Records, which also showed the band's diversified style and the trend of new metal music. Later, the band went to Shenzhen to participate in Rock Music Week and Chongqing Beer Festival, and the response was strong. At this time, the band recruited another lead singer Liang Liang, and the original lead singer Wang Xiaoou quit the band because of cooperation. The arrival of the new lead singer added fresh blood to the band, and also confirmed the style of Numetall. Two years later, in the spring of 2003, when SARS was raging, the band recorded the second album "Back to the Underground" under pressure, and sold10,000 copies without publicity, which became the hottest album of Chinese rock and roll in that year. In May, 2004, they took part in a performance celebrating International Labor Day in Xingang, Tianjin, which was performed on an aircraft carrier. More than 10,000 spectators were moved by their music and danced in succession. In the same year, the band recruited a new lead singer, Liang Liang (the former lead singer of the Doll Band), and the band's style was changed to new metal. Two years later, the band finally released its second album "Back to the Underground" in August 2003.

After recording the album, guitarist Li Pei went to Dalian to study for half a year, during which the band had a short rest. So the band hasn't heard from you for a while. Then the band found a good friend Zhou Yaguang to temporarily take over Li Pei's guitar position and performed some performances. On September 26th, Li Pei returned to Beijing for band rehearsal!
