1. Tweeter unit

BC150 uses two Air-Motion- Transformer (AMT) tweeter, which greatly improves the accuracy and detail that are the hallmarks of Burmester products. The front AMT drive unit is derived from the technology used in the flagship BC350 and is tailor-made for the BC150. Since the lightweight, large-area foil is located in a very strong magnetic field, high-frequency reproduction achieves optimal detail and transparency and musical fluidity. The second AMT is located at the rear of the cabinet and can adjust the spatial depth of the sound field according to personal preference. As a result, sound dispersion is increased and the sweet spot is enlarged for greater listening flexibility.

2. Midrange unit

The midrange unit of BC150 uses a newly designed elliptical voice coil, which significantly improves the stability of the lightweight diaphragm size. . As a result, the BC150 delivers outstandingly detailed and tonally neutral music reproduction. Through very powerful magnets and a very good mass drive ratio, the BC150's audio and video also reflects amazingly high flexibility and resolution.

3. Bass unit

The diameter of the side-firing large-diameter woofer is 32cm, which can provide very powerful, deep and crisp low frequencies. Likewise, this unit is derived from the bass driver used in the flagship BC350 and is optimally tuned for the conditions of the BC150. Its long-excursion diaphragm combined with its powerful driver ensures powerful and rapid low-frequency reproduction with a sufficient amount of dynamic redundancy, with the lower frequencies delivered through the flow-optimized carbon fiber bass reflex port with very high accuracy.

Robust cabinet with custom damping system

To minimize any unwanted vibrations, the BC150’s cabinet concept is designed to dampen the speakers The vibration that may occur during work has been optimized. The latest results obtained through extensive research and development ensure that the cabinet has unparalleled damping characteristics. The solid aluminum frame and composite body inside the cabinet provide the basis for a sophisticated design approach.

The speaker uses reinforcement ribs made of aluminum tubes. This stability reinforces the integrity of the enclosure and allows the piston-like action of the bass unit to be converted into musical information. All drivers are mounted to the cabinet with high preload for optimal power transfer and establishing a strong, long-term coupling. The BC150 features a specially developed damping system. Therefore, its composite box is covered with 4mm thick steel plates and special plastics. This design dampens even the smallest vibrations.

In addition, all relevant components are decoupled to reduce vibration. This includes the crossover, which is housed in its own chamber to reduce the possibility of unwanted vibrations in its components that could affect the sound. Any remaining vibration is effectively eliminated via the speaker's supporting feet, further stabilizing the cabinet and sound.

Due to the use of high-quality Burmester speaker wire with a large diameter cross-section, the impact of internal circuits on the sound quality is eliminated.
