Mayday, a band founded on Youth Day in 1997, originated in Taipei, Taiwan. The predecessor of Mayday was So Band, which was composed of four students from the High School Affiliated to the Normal University. The performance started on 329 Wild Stage, so it was renamed Mayday. At the same time, 329 was also regarded as the day when Mayday became an army. The current Mayday is composed of lead singer-Axin, guitar-Monster, Stone, and bass-Masha. The first three drummers were Qian Youda, Chen Yongkai and Robert, the drummer from Zhuoshui Creek Commune. The current drummer is Guan You, the drummer of the defunct band whynot.
