Lyrics:
Man: I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night and hummed my mood into a song, so I had to go to the roof to find another dream.
Woman: I was awakened in my sleep. I'm still not sure why there is a moving melody on the opposite roof.
I quietly closed the door and walked up hopefully. It turned out to be the man who often appeared in my dreams.
Man: Isn't that the vague person in my dream? We have the same tacit understanding, using an antenna.
W: use the antenna.
Together: to love your shape. oh
Woman: Sing your song on the roof.
Man: On the roof with the person I love.
W: Let the stars decorate it.
Together: the most romantic night, embrace this moment, and all the minutes stop.
Man: Love begins to struggle.
Woman: Sing your song on the roof.
Man: On the roof with the person I love.
Woman: for the yellowed night.
To the loneliest month, embrace this moment, and all the minutes will stop.
Man: Love begins to struggle.
Together: It is wonderful to have your dream.

Woman: I was awakened in my sleep. I'm still not sure. How can there be a touching melody on the opposite roof?

A moving melody surround us.

W: I see.
There was a beautiful encounter on this roof.

Creative background:
The Roof was written by Jay Chou 15 years old. At that time, he was in the second grade of junior high school, and his parents divorced because of disagreement. Jay Chou was raised by his mother Ye Huimei.
He often sits alone outside the window at night, looking at the sky in the city and often looking at his own roof. Maybe he was a little lonely since he was a child, and he really wanted someone to accompany him. He wrote this feeling into his own songs. The first draft of this song was called "Sleepless at Night", and later when he contributed it, it was changed to "Roof".
