He worked tirelessly for his ideals, sang songs from his heart, and inspired people to work hard and forge ahead bravely. He is Huang Jiaju, a simple and persistent young man. In 1983, he formed Beyond with his like-minded friends. Before 1993, the band was led by Wong Ka Kui and composed many popular songs. After Beyond became popular in Hong Kong, it aggressively entered Japan in 1993. Who would have expected that a cruel tragedy would befall Beyond. In the early morning of June 24, Wong Ka Kui and three other members of Beyond accidentally fell off the stage while recording a game show on Fuji TV. He was in a coma for 6 days in the hospital and died. After Ka Kui's death, Beyond gradually declined. Jiaju's death took away an era, and that era will always be the glorious years of Beyond's four sons!
2. Huang Jiaqiang, the band’s lead singer, bassist and song writer from 1984 to 2005. He is Huang Jiaju's younger brother. He is an innocent and kind-hearted young man. He has the same ideals as his brother and has made a lot of efforts. His achievements may never surpass his brother Wong Ka Kui's, but he continues Ka Kui's musical philosophy and brings Beyond to the world. Ka Kui is happy in heaven. Ka-keung had the best relationship with Wong Ka-kui since he was a child. Later, he was influenced by Ka-kui and learned to play acoustic guitar from him. Later, Wong Ka Kui founded Beyond and won an award after participating in the competition. Wong Ka Kui was in urgent need of a bassist. Wong Ka Kui thought of his younger brother Wong Ka Keung and invited him to join the band as the bassist. Of course Wong Jiaqiang did not refuse, he joined the band and became the bassist and song writer. In 2005, Wong Ka-keung had no choice but to announce the disbandment of Beyond due to a disagreement with the band's guitarist Wong Guanzhong and because the band had no mainstay Ka-kui. Today, Wong Ka-keung is an independent musician.
3. Huang Guanzhong, the band’s lead singer, guitarist and song writer from 1985 to 2005. He is a hot-blooded man full of arrogance, a guitarist who can enhance the atmosphere of the whole place, and a man who is cold on the outside and hot on the inside. Huang Guanzhong, a world-famous "Guitar Supreme", a man who constantly transcends himself. In 1985, Huang Guanzhong was originally the lead guitarist of "High Speed ??Beer Machine". Later, he was hired by Huang Jiaju to replace the lead guitarist Chen Shi'an who went to study abroad. Huang Guanzhong joined Beyond. In the same year, Huang Guanzhong and Beyond held the first Hong Kong Caritas Center concert. Before Wong Ka Kui's death, the most successful song performed by Huang Guanzhong was "Earth" from the 1988 album "Secret Police". At that time, Huang Guanzhong's singing was accepted by the public. After Wong Ka Kui's death, Huang Guanzhong changed his singing style to a heavy metal roar. His representative works include "Trapped Beast Fighting", "Please Release Your Hands" and so on. After the band disbanded, Huang Guanzhong became an independent musician and the lead singer and guitarist of Khan Band.
4. Ye Shirong, the band’s harmonist, drummer and song writer from 1983 to 2005. He is the longest-serving member of the Beyond band. He has been the drummer of Beyond for 22 years. He is the famous "Asian Drum King". His drumming is "fast", "accurate" and "ruthless". . He - Ye Shirong, a veteran who works silently for Beyond. In 1983, Yip Sai Wing formed Beyond with Wong Ka Kui and Wu Lin (Deng Weiqian, English name William, former member of Beyond). At that time, Yip Sai Wing had lofty ideals. In 1986, Yip Sai Wing filled in the lyrics for Wong Ka Kui's song called "Footprints of the Old Days". This song was the masterpiece of Beyond in its early days. During the 22 years of working in the band, Ye Shirong never intentionally showed his achievements to others. He always played the drums silently in the background. After Ka Kui's death in 1993, Ye Sai Wing was responsible for composing a large number of new songs, and also became the lead singer of some songs. After the band disbanded, Ye Sai Wing became an independent musician.
5. Liu Zhiyuan, the band's backing vocalist, keyboard player, lead guitarist and song writer from 1986 to 1988. He is the backbone of the Ukiyoe Band. He has a unique music style. He has been reused in Beyond. He is the affectionate "Yuanzi" in Huang Jiaju's mouth. During his two years at Beyond, Liu Zhiyuan participated in the 1987 "Beyond Arabia" concert and the 1988 "Pingguo Brand" concert. Liu Zhiyuan also participated in the arrangement and lyrics of many songs in the album "Arab Dancing Girl". The sad keyboard intro of "Footprints of the Past" was arranged by Liu Zhiyuan. Liu Zhiyuan left Beyond after the 1988 concert because his musical philosophy was different from that of other members. In that concert, "Goodbye Ideal" sung by the five members of Beyond was always a touching moment. Afterwards, Liu Zhiyuan, Liang Qiaobai and others formed the Ukiyoe Band, and are now Huang Guanzhong's music producer and independent musician.
6. Chen Shi'an, the band's backing vocalist, lead guitarist and song writer from 1984 to 1985. He is a talented person who is proficient in English, he is a highly regarded songwriter by Ka Kui, and he is a highly skilled guitarist. During his year at Beyond, Chen Shian helped Wong Ka Kui create many English works, such as "Myth", and Cantonese works such as "Forever Waiting".
In early 1985, Chen Shian had no choice but to quit the Beyond band because he had to study abroad. Today, Chen Shian has changed his nationality and settled abroad, becoming a nostalgic mysterious member of Beyond.
7. Wu Lin, the band's backing vocalist, lead guitarist and song compilation in 1983. He is one of the earliest members of Beyond, he is the guitarist praised by Huang Jiaju, and he is now a famous behind-the-scenes musician. Wu Lin's real name is Deng Weiqian, and his English name is William. In 1980, he met Huang Jiakui and Yip Sai Wing. In 1983, Wu Lin, Huang Jiaju and Yip Sai Wing formed Beyond to participate in the "Yamaha Guitar Competition". They became the best band after covering famous foreign songs. Later, Wu Lin left the band due to drug abuse, and became an independent musician after recovering from drug abuse.
