Mayday’s three guitarists are Cai Shengyan (Martha) on bass; Shi Jinhang (Stone) and Wen Shangyi (Monster) on electric guitar.

Cai Shengyan (Martha) was born on April 25, 1977 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, China. She is the bassist and composer of the band Mayday. She graduated from the High School Affiliated to Taipei Normal University and the Department of Sociology at Fu Jen Catholic University. Ren Tao Jingying is the columnist of the website "Sister Taobao".

Shi Jinhang (Shitou), born on December 11, 1975 in Taipei City, Taiwan, China, is a Mayday guitarist, composer and actor. He graduated from the High School Affiliated to the National Normal University and majored in Water Environment at Tamkang University. His major works include "Ru Yan", "Cangjie", etc.

Wen Shangyi (Monster), born on November 28, 1976 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, China, is the leader of Mayday, guitarist, composer, and actor. Graduated from the High School Affiliated to Taipei Normal University and majored in Sociology at National Taiwan University.

Early experience

From 1992 to 1994, Ashin, Monster, Martha, and Shitou met successively at the High School Affiliated to Taiwan Normal University. Joined the Guitar Club of the High School Affiliated to the Normal University and started a musical journey.

In 1995, guitarist Monster and lead singer Ashin, who were still in high school, and the first drummer Qian Youda formed a band called "So Band", and then bassist Masha joined. After graduating from high school, the four of them entered different universities respectively, but the band did not stop its activities and continued to perform in many bars and restaurants.

In 1997, before the Nodai singing event, guitarist Shitou was added. In order to sign up for the Nodai singing event, the five people used Martha's code name "MAYDAY" on the Internet BBS as the group name and officially changed their name. For "May Day". On March 29, May Amano Station started singing and the band was officially formed.
