Zhuang dance originated from the imitation of hunting, but it is often closely related to the activities of wizards to reward gods. Wizards always sing and dance when they worship God and enjoy God's blessing. The earliest records show that zhuang dance in Huashan mural was actually an ode to the frog god by Zhuang ancestors at that time. During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, when servants offered sacrifices to ghosts and gods, they danced ghost dances to encourage ghosts and gods. Huang Xianfan, a famous historian, said: "During the Qin and Han Dynasties, the music and dance of the ancestors of the Zhuang nationality experienced unprecedented prosperity. The objects unearthed from tombs in the Han Dynasty include bronze drums, bronze bells, horn bells, wooden drums, harpsichords and flutes. In addition, there is a tomb book named Cong Qizhi, which contains a list of funerary objects with musical instruments such as "Shuan" and "Zhu Yue". This shows that the music and dance of Zhuang ancestors were very prosperous at that time. In Song Dynasty, there were Nuo teams in Guilin and northern Guangxi, wearing masks to dance for the gods. Witchcraft dance has been spread until 1949 years ago, and it is divided into master dance and wizard dance, which is part of superstitious activities.
