Cai Jikun Conservatory of Music was founded on April 6, 20 10. In 20 10, Fujian Provincial Department of Education allocated the overall assets of Fujian Conservatory of Music to Minjiang College for management and use on behalf of the provincial government. Based on the research of the school, it is decided to absorb the assets of Fujian Conservatory of Music and set up a second-level school-running unit (public) on the basis of the overall establishment of Minjiang Conservatory of Music. The predecessor of Cai Jikun Conservatory of Music, Minjiang Conservatory of Music, was established in March 2005, majoring in musicology. In March, 2009, musicology major was awarded the right of bachelor's degree. The former Fujian Conservatory of Music was founded in March 1994. It was founded by Professor Cai Jikun, a patriotic overseas Chinese and musician, funded by overseas Chinese who love their country and their hometown, and strongly supported by the government.
