On December 31st, 217, the 218 CCTV New Year Concert presented by China Philharmonic Orchestra will be staged in poly theatre with the baton of conductor Yang Yang. This is the 17th consecutive year that China Philharmonic Orchestra and CCTV have held a New Year concert. Through the live screen, hundreds of millions of viewers can bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new year to the music, and have a wonderful New Year's Eve.

"New Year Concert", as a way to celebrate the New Year, originated in Europe, also has a long history in China. As early as 1992, conductor Yu Long founded the first Beijing New Year Concert, which was the first performance of the New Year Concert in China. On December 31st, 2 and January 1st, 21, China Philharmonic Orchestra held its first New Year concert, which was broadcast live by CCTV.
