Sinzhu music has the characteristics of being small, light, and vulgar, and is indispensable in Chinese folk activities. It includes southern silk and bamboo and northern silk and bamboo. The southern silk and bamboo mostly progresses in a wave style, and the melody is smooth, soft, elegant and implicit. It includes Jiangnan silk and bamboo, Guangdong music, Chaozhou string poetry and Fujian Nanyin. The northern silk and bamboo mostly progresses in a jumping style (three and six).
