1978, Taiwan Province famous musician Li Taixiang asked Sanmao to write some lyrics. Because she was in a hurry, she wrote nine songs in one night, one of which was Olive Tree, and the theme of the lyrics was vagrancy. When the olive tree was first given to Li Taixiang, the song was called Little Donkey. Because when wandering in Spain, Sanmao saw many little donkeys running on the Yuan Ye, which was as poetic as a fairy tale. Later, the little donkey changed its name to olive tree, mainly because Sanmao loved olive tree and it was beautiful. Moreover, San Mao's husband Jose's hometown is in southern Spain, where the most famous olive tree is also there.
