. Guo Lanying was born in Pingyao, Shanxi Province in December, 1929. She is a soprano, an opera performer and a national vocal educator in China. Member of the 4th National Committee of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the 2nd and 3rd directors of China Musicians Association, and the 1th honorary member of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

In p>1986, Guo Lanying founded Guo Lanying Art School in Guangdong as the principal. In 216, Guo Lanying participated in the CCTV Spring Festival Evening song program "The Echo is Bright" and sang a song "My Motherland".
