The famous guzheng player is from Nanyang (Mongolian), Henan. He has been learning Zheng since he was a child. He has received guidance from more than a dozen folk Zheng masters and has a solid foundation in Henan Zheng music. He had a talent for music since he was a child. He participated in many provincial competitions and won many awards. Later, he was admitted to Nanyang Art School and studied under the famous zheng player Mr. Zhao Manqin. He systematically studied and mastered the essence of the "quick sequence technique system" founded by Zhao. In 1986, his performance of "Fighting the Tiger Up the Mountain" with his new and difficult technique caused a sensation at China's first Guzheng Academic Exchange Conference, attracting the attention of experts and scholars at home and abroad. In 1988, he was admitted to the China Conservatory of Music and studied under the famous zheng educator Associate Professor Li Wanfen. Li's rigorous and meticulous academic thoughts further sublimated his zheng skills.
