Vaporwave is a music genre and art movement.
Vaporwave music sounds extremely romantic, and you can feel the mist of water vapor just from your ears, just like its name vapor wave/steam wave. Someone said, "This is a moment that sounds like soaking in a big pink bathhouse, listening to retro dynamic music from the radio next door."
The first feature of Vaporwave is that it has a large number of samples from the 80s The music of the 1990s and 1990s is usually the soothing, smooth Smooth Jazz or some Jazz Fusion music or even J Pop and 80's Urban Music
And a lot of black music such as Funk Soul and even Dub and Many online microscenes have much richer sampling objects than vaporwave.
Joseph Schillinger, the little-known American Cubist, wrote that within twenty-five years, there was an extraordinary book called "The Mathematical Foundations of Art" (The Mathematical Basis of the Arts), which evolves the history of art into five parts, which replace each other at an increasing speed:
1. Pre-aesthetic, biomimetic stage ;
2. Traditional-aesthetic, art as witchcraft and religious rituals;
3. Emotional-aesthetic, art expressing emotions and self-expression , art for art’s sake;
4. Rational-aesthetic, which is characterized by empiricism, experimental art, and novel art;
5. Scientific, post-aesthetic ( post-aesthetic), it will produce, distribute and consume a perfect art product, which will be characterized by the integration of art form and material, and finally achieve "the disintegration of art" and "the abstraction and liberation of concepts".
Vaporwave is a classic embodiment of "the dematerialization of art".
