The Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music enrolls majors in music performance, instrument repair and production, etc. Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music is a public art music school jointly established by the Xiamen Municipal People's Government and the Central Conservatory of Music in 2007. It is also the only school jointly run by the Central Conservatory of Music in another place.

The school attaches equal importance to professional and cultural courses, with the purpose of "domestic first-class, internationally renowned", specializing in cultivating primary school students Students from the fourth grade to the third grade of high school aim to become a model of central-region cooperative education and the second high school affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music. The school's original site was at No. 16 Zhangzhou Road, Gulangyu Island. In October 2008, it was moved to its current location in Wuyuan School Village, Huli District. The school's teaching facilities are among the best in the country, with a professional piano room, a supporting concert hall, and 120 pianos, including multiple grand pianos of the Steinway and Besendorfer brands.

There are currently 110 faculty members, including 39 piano teachers, six with Ph.D.s, and nearly 90% have master's degrees. Professional teachers are entrusted to the Central Conservatory of Music to recruit, and a group of teachers with high academic qualifications from the Central Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Beijing Film Academy, University of Music and Drama in Hannover, Germany, and the Royal Academy of Music in the United Kingdom have been teaching for a long time. More than 71.9% of professional teachers have postgraduate degrees, and the proportion of cultural teachers with senior professional titles is 67%.
