Petrucci is the only unconventional shredded guitarist in the fast-playing charts. Together with his band, Dream Theater, he has created one epic after another for radical metals. His performance combines a lot of musical elements, from blues to flamenco, all of which he hunted.

John Petrucci was born in Kings Park, Long Island, New York, USA in 1967. He once had a brief interest in guitar when he was 8 years old (because he saw his sister staying up late for organ lessons), but this interest didn't last. He didn't really start playing guitar until he was 12 years old. He began to feel the influence of some great guitarists on the island and made up his mind to move towards their piano skills. People who had an important influence on him in the early days included Yngwie Malmsteen. Randy Rhoads, Iron Maiden, Stevie Ray Vaughn (S.R.V.), Yes, Rush, etc. With the whip tartar metal (thrash & With the rise of metal, John also became interested in bands like Metallica and Queensryche. John's music study began in his high school music theory class. Later, he went to the Berkeley Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he taught himself some music courses and learned jazz composition and harmony. In Berkeley, he and his old classmate John Myung met Mike Portnoy and formed a band called Majesty, which was the predecessor of the later Dream Theater. John recorded eight albums with Dream Theatre I * * *, and he also participated in the recording of other music, including "Liquid Tension Experiment", "Age of Impact" and the music of a Sega Saturn game called Necronomicon, which was co-operated with Tony Levin. His love for lyrics creation and his special progressive fusion composition style have made the style of Dream Theater. John lives in new york with his wife Rena and their three children SamiJo,Reny,Kiara Kiara. In addition to playing guitar, his spare time is usually to go skating, cycling and watching movies with his wife and children.
