Desire is a song by Jelly Roll Morton (the black pianist in the movie). Some people say it belongs to ragtime jazz, but most of the ragtime piano music I have heard so far is fast-paced but not like the Latin feeling of Desire, but light and playful. The most typical artist.

I still recommend Billy Taylor's I wish I knew the feeling of freedom.

Many of Billy Taylor's beautiful works are duets (piano+bass+drums), such as CAG and Titoro. However, the master's audio is not much online. I'm interested in searching videos on Youtube, and I've seen CAG and Titoro live, which is very cool.
