24 Capriccio (Itzhak Perlman)
24 Capriccio (Itzhak Perlman)

ItzakPerlman (1945-), an Israeli, is a world-famous violinist. When I was a child, I had to play in a wheelchair for the rest of my life because of polio. Paalmann's performance is famous for its accuracy, dexterity, ease and being good at expressing ever-changing timbre. He can play according to the characteristics and emotions of composers in different times. At the same time, he also pays attention to dealing with the potential logic of music, properly controlling it, and perfectly combining romantic enthusiasm with classical balance.

? Paganini's twenty-four capriccios (24 capriccios [Itzhak Perlman]) are Paalmann's representative works. This masterpiece of violin was created by Italian violinist Paganini in 180 1- 1920. It is the only publicly published violin solo score in his life, and it is also the most representative work of his artistic achievements. It is full of a lot of skills such as double tone, tenth degree, octave, third vibrato and various overtones, which pushes the violin playing technology to the peak. Since 1820 was published in Milan, Italy, this work has become the biggest challenge for many professional violinists. Even the first edition of this work should be titled "Dedi agli artisti" (dedicated to the performer).

? Jascha Heifetz (called "God" by Paalmann) recorded three versions of this work, while yehudi menuhin recorded only six versions. RuggieroRicci, an Italian artist who devoted his life to promoting Paganini music, was the first person to record all 24 songs. Paalmann successfully recorded 24 authoritative albums of capriccio for the first time in 1972 at the age of 26. There is no doubt that it has become a classic with excellent performance and recording standards in many versions, and was selected as the best record in recording arts ... In 2004, 63-year-old Paalmann re-recorded this album, which was released by EMI.

Paganini's "24 capriccios" is a typical violin skill etude, which fully shows the characteristics of free form, improvisation and eclectic capriccios. Although this work is famous for its performance, Paalmann's performance perfectly combines skill and emotion. By understanding the works and composer's emotions, Paalmann endows music with more metaphorical connotations, which can resonate with the audience.

The first work,No. 1 in E key, has a duration of 1'38'. The bow of the violin is clean and granular. The left and right hands can realize the alternation and smooth connection of all voices in flexible cooperation. Compared with other musicians, the playing time of the first piece is the shortest, because most violinists play around 1'50''.

"Hunting" is the alias of the ninth of Paganini's twenty-four violin caprices, one of which is disyllabic, like a hunting horn. The musical form has a strong sense of rhythm and is full of infinite power. Under the performance of Paalmann, this piece is more emotional and full of high-spirited positive spirit. The performance of musical instruments must touch the hearts of the audience in order to resonate. I think Paalmann has no doubt about it.

? The two most representative songs in this work are Capriccio XIII, also known as Devil's Laughter, and Capriccio XXIV. The former uses the double-string technique of violin to a great extent, but if any sound in the double strings goes wrong, it is a total loss. Especially when the bow enters the upper part of the bow, it will jump immediately, and it needs to keep a coherent melody, which makes many players daunting. The theme melody was repeated twice, and Paalmann played it with a very strong contrast. The latter adopts the creative technique of theme and variation, which is extremely difficult to play with both hands. The intensity of his voice is subtle and changeable, and the weakest voice is like a whisper.

? The recordings of the same work include arcado DG, Richie Decca, iyla kaler, Shlomo Mintz DG, Rabin EMI, etc. Of course, my favorite version is Paalmann Itzhak. Not only because of his performance level and emotional expression, but also because of his unique charm and spirit of never giving up. On the 9th of this month, Paalmann, who is over 70 years old, came to Beijing to play a violin solo. I am looking forward to it.
