Harbin Conservatory of Music is located in Songbei District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. It was established in March 2016 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the only independently established public art institution of higher learning in Heilongjiang Province and the first in the country. It is one of the eleven independent professional music schools and one of the first-class discipline construction universities in Heilongjiang Province.

Harbin Conservatory of Music is located on the north bank of the beautiful Songhua River, No. 3179 Xuezi Street, Songbei District, Harbin.

Harbin Conservatory of Music (Harbin Conservatory of Music), referred to as "Harbin", is located in the ice city of Harbin, which is known as the "City of Music" by the United Nations. It is the only independent public art higher education institution in Heilongjiang Province. The school is one of the eleven independent professional music conservatories in the country. It is one of the first-class discipline construction universities in Heilongjiang Province. It is one of the few higher music institutions in China with the right to award doctoral degrees. It was established in 2005.

The college was approved by the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government in 2015 and relied on Harbin Normal University to carry out transitional enrollment and training. On September 10, 2015, the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Education has announced that Harbin Conservatory of Music has been included in the list of applications for establishment of higher education institutions inspected by experts.

Harbin Conservatory of Music was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education in March 2016. As of January 2021, the college covers an area of ??219,000 square meters and a building area of ??68,000 square meters; it has 7 undergraduate teaching units. 3 undergraduate majors; 2 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points and first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 1 professional master's degree authorization point; there are 95 teachers, including 10 Russian teachers, with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. There are 836 students on campus, including 523 undergraduates, 250 master’s students, and 63 doctoral students.
