Liu Xin, Ph.D., is currently an associate professor and master’s tutor at the School of Music of Northeast Normal University. The main research directions are piano performance and music education. Born in a musical family, he studied piano since he was a child. He studied under Mr. Zhang Quming, now professor of the High School Affiliated to Shenyang Conservatory of Music, and Professor Zhang Guibao, former director of the piano teaching and research section of the Music Department of the Art Institute. During college and postgraduate studies, he was taught by Professor Zhang Hui from the School of Music of Northeast Normal University, and under the guidance of Professor Zhang Hui from the School of Music of Northeast Normal University, he held a graduation report concert under the guidance of Professor Lyudmila Lyudmila from Ukraine. In 2004, he studied under Professor Yin Aiqing, a doctoral supervisor at the School of Music, and obtained a doctorate in music curriculum and teaching theory. In 2007, he received an exchange scholarship from the Italian government and studied Italian at Beijing Language and Culture University. From 2008 to 2009, he studied at the Bologna Conservatory of Music, during which he studied piano teaching methods with Professor Carlo Mazzoli; he also studied piano courses and chamber music courses with Professors Carlo Mazzoli and Stefano Malferrarri; he also studied music teaching with professors from the Bologna Conservatory of Music, President of the Italian Educational Society. Graduate courses in law, music psychology and music pedagogy. During his studies in Italy, he participated in many music demonstrations and performances, and held a piano solo concert on June 29, 2008. Mainly teaches piano lessons for undergraduate teacher majors, piano lessons for piano performance majors, and guides postgraduate students in both piano performance and music education.
