Lyrics: Wang Xin
Music composed by: Wang Xin
Music style: March
< p>The five-star red flag flutters in the wind, and the victory songs are so loud;Sing our dear motherland and move towards prosperity from now on.
Sing our dear motherland and move toward prosperity and strength from now on.
Across the mountains, across the plains, across the surging Yellow River and the Yangtze River;
This vast and beautiful land is our dear hometown,
The heroic people stand up Got it! Our unity and friendship are as strong as steel.
The five-star red flag flutters in the wind, and the victory songs are so loud;
Singing our dear motherland, we will become prosperous and strong from now on.
Sing our dear motherland and move toward prosperity and strength from now on.
We are hardworking, we are brave, and our five thousand years of history are glorious;
We have overcome all hardships to achieve today's liberation!
We love peace and our hometown. Whoever dares to invade us will be destroyed!
The five-star red flag flutters in the wind, and the victory songs are so loud;
Singing our dear motherland, we will become prosperous and strong from now on.
Sing our dear motherland and move toward prosperity and strength from now on.
The sun rises, shining brightly, and the People's Republic of China is growing;
Our leader Mao Zedong points the way forward.
Our lives are improving every day, and our future is bright.
The five-star red flag flutters in the wind, and the victory songs are so loud;
Singing our dear motherland, we will become prosperous and strong from now on.
Sing our dear motherland and move toward prosperity and strength from now on.

Creative background:
The song was written in September 1950, coinciding with the first anniversary of the founding of New China. Looking at the lively scene of the five-star red flag fluttering in the wind and the sea of ??flowers in Tiananmen Square, Wang Xin kept thinking over and over in her mind that "Singing the Motherland" was written in one breath on the train back to Tianjin.
On September 15, 1950, Wang Xin went from Tianjin to Beijing to buy musical instruments. On the way back, I was passing by Tiananmen Square and was attracted by the golden sunset. I looked up and saw a bright red national flag flying high in the glow. It was heart-pounding. The inspiration suddenly struck the 32-year-old Wang Xin and she blurted out the first four lines of the lyrics. As Wang Xin boarded the train back to Tianjin, her thoughts were flying. She was singing and writing while keeping time. The lyrics and music score poured out almost simultaneously. When they got home, Wang Xin and his wife Wang Huifen were humming at the same time. Wang Xin finished the second and third verses of the lyrics overnight.
This song is widely sung because of its bright and majestic rhythm. It has now become a ceremonial song, opening song or closing song for various major events in China, and is known as the "second national anthem".
In September 1951, "People's Literature" and "People's Daily" successively published the lyrics of "Singing the Motherland", and then the Central Orchestra played the chorus of "Singing the Motherland" on the Central Radio Station. From then on, the song spread to domestic and foreign countries.
In October 1951, at the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman Mao Zedong met Wang Xin and said when he talked about "Singing the Motherland": "This song is good" and specially gave Wang Xin a set of the newly published song. "Selected Works of Mao Zedong" and signed it as a souvenir. Since then, "Singing the Motherland" has become a chorus song for people of all generations in New China.
