Is rap divided into factions
Rap rap main factions:

West coast rap (west coast rap)

In the rap world, this is not just a geographical division. The difference between east and west coast rap lies in the style and content. Although influenced by the rap predecessors such as Flash Master and Afrika Bambatta, the West Coast rap is farther away from the old-fashioned rap than the East Coast rap. They use more fashionable and unique rhythms and support smooth and melodious tunes. West Coast rappers also took the lead in bringing "gangster" culture to the forefront of hip-hop culture. Although the boundaries between east and west coast rap are gradually weakening in the process of the evolution of rap music, there are still obvious west coast systems, including the most typical rap bands N.W.A, Snoop Dogg and Vallejo, as well as California's E-40.

Southern rap (southern rap)

Among all kinds of rap, Southern rap /Rap contains the widest range of artists and styles. In terms of lyrics, the common feature of southern rappers is a strong local accent. However, in music, the differences between bands in different regions are different. The innovative instrumental music of Noize Productions organized in Atlanta is very different from the rough synthetic jumping style of Cash Money and Limit in New Orleans. And underground Kingz (from Houston, Texas) and eight balls &; MJG (from Memphis, Tennessee) These bands decorate their generous and affectionate dynamics with guitars, further expanding the scope of this style.

hip hop

Pop rap /Rap is a kind of rap suitable for radio broadcasting. Its main features are attractive melody and rhythm, neat production and popularization of gimmicks. This style is also called "clean rap". Artists, including will smith, MC Hammer and Young M.C, are often ridiculed by die-hard rappers, but because they pay attention to the young people's market, they are constantly setting off a strong upsurge.

Old school rap (old school)

Old-school rap refers to the initial stage of rap. 1979-84 period, when the beat was more direct, focusing on entertainment, rather than explaining society or telling stories of depravity. The heyday of old-school rap began with Sugarhill Gang's hit single "The Joy of the Raptor", and later it was other singles that became popular, not an artist. Roxanne Roxanne by U.T.F.O, Nightout of Freaks by Whodini and Basketball by Kurtis Blow were great successes in this period, but what was remembered by the popular mainstream was mainly the hit single, not their extensive other works. Several modern bands, such as Arsonist and Jurassic 5, have obvious old-school rap tones, introducing the essence of B-boy to a new generation of listeners, such as the importance of high-energy synthetic sound system and DJ.

Midwest rap

Although their production technology also represents their music, rappers in the Midwest of the United States mainly make themselves unique through sound innovation. Hosts Twista and Bone Thugs found a suitable position for Midwest rap through the experiment of vocal melody, in which host Twista accelerated the melody. The healthy competition between Chicago's Do or Die and Cleveland's Bone hitter N-Harmony further consolidated the position of the Midwest rap music in the rap world. The two sides competed for publicity and attracted many listeners.

Latin rap (Latin rap)

From the beginning of rap, there has been rap from Latin circle. But it didn't break into the mainstream of fashion until very late. The double success of Meloman Ace's "Mentirosa" and Kid Frost's "La Raza" indicates the success of Latin rap-the image of multi-language (especially Spanish) rap, Latin rhythm and Latin city life-in the pop music world. Mellow Man Ace's brother Sengou is one of the founding members of the most famous Latin rap action Cypress Hill.

Hardcore Rap

While rap has described the theme of urban struggle in a more direct way, a more inflammatory expression called "hard core" appeared in the late 1980s. Artists like Tracy Marlowe, Public Enemy, Geto Boy and Mobb Deep create music with spicy lyrics and rough production techniques.

Gunst rap music

Gangster rap tells the story of street life, and the theme is often violent assassination or women's troubles. It has become a musical style and a violent image at the same time. N.W.A created the most controversial rap in this kind of hip-hop for the first time in 1989' s famous album "Straight Outta Compton". In this song, Fuchtha police and crooked police officers accused law enforcement of atrocities. Protests and threats from politicians and religious rights holders suddenly flooded into the city, and overwhelming negative reports forced media giants to give up many promising musicians and record companies to avoid censorship. Nevertheless, the notorious music videos recorded by B.I.G and his colleagues, which are familiar to the media, brought gangster culture close to the mainstream in the late 1990s.

Foreign rap

The contribution of all non-English speaking countries to Rap is always called foreign rap /Rap, which is based on the basic creed of rap and has joined many cultures. French rap band MC Solaar and Japanese artist DJ Kensei blended other genres, including dance music and psychedelic jazz, and injected the flavor of other cultures into the daily hip-hop blood.

east coast rap

Generally speaking, East Coast rap /Rap retains more old-fashioned styles than its West Coast rap. Public Enmy, Boogie Down Productions, Run-D.M.C and other East Coast elite artists directly draw lessons from the simplicity and directness of their predecessors, which is in sharp contrast with the gorgeous style of the West Coast. This produces a more angular rhythm and a rigorous and powerful rhythm. With the integration of the east and west coasts, rap has become an alloy of cross-strait cultures, and the clear and lively voice on the east coast continues to flourish, and a number of young and promising innovative artists such as Nas, Mobb Deep and Juru the Damaj a have emerged.

Cross rap

Transitional rap refers to rap from its core city audience to mainstream pop charts. It is often characterized by repeated popular gimmicks, mainstream MTV lyrics and sophisticated production techniques. Most (but not all) transitional rap is popular rap, focusing on the structure and theme of popular songs. There are several artists who can stick to their street style while gaining popularity, such as Biggie, Tupac, method man and Jay-Z. They all became music superstars without giving up their consistent and intense lyrics, and they are popular without losing their street characteristics.

Comedy rap

Comedy Rap is a relaxed aspect of rap. Biz Markie created an aggressive and violent image far away from hardcore and gangster rap in 1980s. Comedy rappers added a unique sense of humor to the bass and percussion of modern city music. Although gang rap quickly became a popular form of hip hop, DJ J azzy Jeff and Fresh Prince's Parents Just Don't Understand and Bobby Jimmy &; The songs of small animals such as "Someone Farts" are still on the list from time to time.

Christian rap (Christian rap)

Christian rap is to sing praise lyrics with hip-hop rhythm. At first, the theme of urban life and violence in hip-hop music seems to have nothing to do with the peace and relaxation of modern Christian music. But DC Talk, T-Bone, and the Transformation Crusaders found that the mixture of the two still had an audience. MC Hammer was the first rapper to succeed with a clear theme of Christ; In the early 1990s, his hit single "Prayer" introduced Christian rap, which was still in its infancy, to a wide audience.

Alternative rap (alternative rap)

Most rap musicians often stick to some existing styles, while alternative rap/hip hop artists boldly develop in new directions. Hindered by development, the Jungle Brothers and a tribe named Quest seek inspiration from funk, jazz, reggae, soul music, folk songs, pop music and anything that can inspire them. Produced by Prince Paul, De La Sol's debut novel Three Feet High and Rising (1989) changed the rules of art and greatly expanded the vision of the music industry. On the basis of describing urban life, injustice and lies, most of the alternative rap is unconventional in lyrics and philosophically explores the mainstream of society. ......
