To the north of Yuxi is Nie Er Music Square, where stands a magnificent bronze statue of Nie Er, who is the pride of Yuxi. In Yuxi, buildings named after Nie Er can be seen everywhere: Nie Er Grand Theatre, Nie Er Library and Nie Er Memorial Hall. In this way, Yuxi people commemorate Nie Er and inherit and carry forward Nie Er's spirit. Nie Er Music Square is one of the beautiful squares named after Nie Er. Every weekend night, when the lanterns are on, people will gather here to attend or listen to concerts. Nie Er's bronze statue plays the violin selflessly, as if singing for the happy life of Yuxi people today. There is an artificial lake next to Nier Music Square. The blue lake flows from the waterfall at the exit. There are lush flowers and trees by the lake, and there is a white beach where children can enjoy themselves.
To the east of Yuxi is Hongtashan Industrial Park. The tall red tower stands on the mountain, and at the foot of the mountain is the famous garden-style factory-hongta group. The workers are working hard and have made great contributions to the country.
To the west of Yuxi is Daying Street, the first village in Yunnan. The farmers here are hardworking and rich, and every family has lived in spacious buildings. Many people also run their own shops. There are many natural hot springs and three beautiful parks in Daying Street. In summer, beautiful lotus flowers bloom in Yuquan Lake Park, attracting countless tourists to watch. Every day, many people go back and forth to the hot spring swimming pool of Long Ecological Park for fitness swimming. There is a large Buddhist temple in Huixi Park. Many people come here to pray every New Year.
To the south of Yuxi is the Hongta Science and Technology Park under construction, where exotic flowers and herbs have begun to welcome guests.
Nie Er's former residence is located in the center of Yuxi, near Nie Er Park, which was my playground when I was a child. I used to cross the iron bridge, roller skate, play fishing, draw sand paintings and drill "dog holes" here. ...
Ah, how beautiful my hometown is. Although I have left her for two years, I still love her deeply. Every holiday, I always go back to see her and get together with my grandparents and childhood friends. Yuxi, my paradise, my paradise.
