BigBang officially debuted at the YG FAMILY 10th anniversary concert held at the Olympic Arena in Seoul, South Korea on August 19, 2006 . For YG Company’s five-member group BigBang, only the 10-episode true documentary “BigBang’s Debut Records” has been released. For a group that has never even appeared in person, the documentary has been viewed 1.6 million times online.
The title song of the first MINI album released in 2007, "Lies", which swept the Korean music scene, was written and composed by leader G-Dragon.
