During this period, I received a bachelor's degree, not in art, but in law and Chinese language and literature.
1. Being associated with the Kite Club, he has directed and planned dozens of opening and closing ceremonies and large-scale performances at national and provincial levels.
Mr. Yu Ke became associated with the Weifang International Kite Festival in 1984, and has directed (generally) the opening ceremony and large-scale cultural performances of the 12th Weifang International Kite Festival on and off. Regarding its personal impact, director Yu Ke said: "In fact, being a director is not as glamorous as outsiders imagine. The hardships we have experienced and the responsibilities we shoulder are beyond the imagination of ordinary people."
At the opening ceremony of the 4th Weifang International Kite Festival in 1987, there were large-scale square performances such as "Kite Dance" with 500 people, which initially showed the prototype of modern large-scale group singing and dancing. During the 5th Weifang International Kite Festival in 1988, the performance time of the opening ceremony was moved from daytime to night. "The main reason is to use lighting art to highlight what the director wants to highlight. Another reason is because the lighting conceals the ugliness. Although the lighting effect was not as good as it is now, the busy figures during the stadium preparations will not be noticed by the audience under the lighting. " Director Yu Ke said humorously.
At the opening ceremony of the 7th Weifang International Kite Festival in 1990, Yu Ke, as the deputy director, directed "Ten Thousands of Horses Galloping", "The Fairy Descends to Earth", "A Hundred Children in Spring", "_Stacked Arhat" "" and other large-scale performance forms that combine ground and air (aircraft skydiving), initially formed a personal directing style.
At the opening ceremony of the 8th Weifang International Kite Festival in 1991, Yu Ke invited the national top models from the 1990s and 1991s to Weifang and held a large-scale "A Colorful Color Is Always Spring" at the Weifang Stadium. Fashion song and dance party, this party is divided into four chapters: "The Messenger of Spring", "The Enthusiasm of Summer", "The Style of Autumn" and "The Blessing of Winter". It has 5,000 actors. The performance is mainly about models from beginning to end, with the Four Seasons Fashion Group Based on singing and dancing, large-toned scheduling and rendering created a colorful and magnificent scene in the stadium. The party performance was very successful. From that time on, Yu Ke's position as chief director was basically established.
“Weifang was not very developed in the early 1990s. At that time, models were probably a very new thing to Weifang people, and it was even more bizarre to use models for large-scale group shows. Therefore, There was a lot of resistance in all aspects. To be honest, it took a lot of effort for me to pass my own level. But as a director, we must learn to innovate. Innovation is our top priority. If a director does not innovate, then his career will be in vain. My career as a director was basically over, so I was under a lot of pressure and won support from all aspects. The final result proved that I was right, because the party was a huge success and was well received by all walks of life. It has received wide acclaim, including some who were fiercely opposed to me at the beginning.”
The opening ceremony of the 17th Weifang International Kite Festival directed by Yu Ke in 2000 reached the pinnacle of square group singing and dancing art. The theme of that time was "Flying towards the New Century", which was divided into "Kite Soul", "Kite Love", "Kite Tide", "Kite Ode" and "Fly!" "Weifang" has five performances, involving more than 15,000 actors. The performance unfolds from the ancient scrolls - 'Flying Totem', 'Original Lu Ban', 'God of War Han Xin', 'Geek Banqiao', all the way to the real-life 'Silver Thread' Connecting the world, kites convey friendship's beautiful homeland, and thus unfolds the blueprint for the development of Weifang. Among them, Shandong folk art is organically combined with Weifang kites, using time and space travel and literary accumulation as a backdrop, so that Yu Ke's many years of innovative dreams can be displayed one by one, becoming an important milestone in Mr. Yu Ke's artistic career.
"Of course, after that session, the opening ceremony of the International Kite Festival basically ended with large group singing and dancing as the model, and the opening ceremony began to transform into a large stage and theater facing north and south. Form. The performances are dominated by big-name celebrities, and there are fewer original elements from the director. There are no more creative designs, rehearsals, and scenes for group performances, and the sense of responsibility and bitterness has been reduced a lot.
"
When Yu Ke talked about the ups and downs of being a director, he had his own opinion: "I think as a director, you must have your own beliefs, no matter when you are in the most poverty and trough, or when you are tempted by official career. No matter the time, you can't give up. Only by persisting can you succeed. "Mr. Yu Ke was selected as the director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games, which proves the result of his persistence for many years. It can be said that the cultural heritage and rich director experience accumulated in the annual Weifang International Kite Fair have made him good at controlling various large-scale The scenes are all calm and leisurely.

2. The bumpy growth experience accumulated wealth in life and made him successful
Mr. Yu Ke did not come from a formal art major. After embarking on the road of art, he experienced many ups and downs, overcame various difficulties, and finally became self-taught. A well-known director.
Yu Ke was born in a family of cadres in the provincial government. Regarding his memories before the age of 12, he said that he was very happy after the age of 12, when the unprecedented movement came and his father was decentralized. , he also came to Zhucheng County with him. In that special era, his father’s family was a landlord and a capitalist roader, so Yu Ke naturally became a target of reform when he was sent to the countryside at the age of 15 and was assigned to a remote mountainous area. He worked 12 to 16 hours a day in the factory, digging toilets and carrying molten iron. During the day, the adults rolled their eyes and scolded him; when he went to sleep at night, rats would run over him in groups and bully him... He had never done heavy work before. He couldn't lift the molten iron, but the master said he could lift it by straightening his waist, so he bulged up his weak waist and pushed it up. The molten iron suddenly splashed out, flew everywhere, spilled from the ceiling onto his clothes, and got into his neck. , Yu Ke quickly shrank his neck in panic, the "sizzling" heartbreaking pain and the smell of burnt meat gushed out. He endured it until he reached the destination (when he let go, the molten iron in the pot was turned into nothing), and then Holding his burned neck, he ran out to face the empty wilderness and cried loudly. No one dared to comfort the young man. Yu Ke's tone was a little heavy, "At that time, I felt that I was a superfluous person in the world."
During the special period, Yu Ke worked as a sand foundry worker, lathe worker, hot metal laboratory technician, political propaganda worker, etc. Work hard and be good at what you do. By chance, he participated in a performance by the county's Mao Zedong Thought Literary and Art Propaganda Team. Because of his diligence and studiousness, coupled with his strong interest in art and his high talent, he soon emerged and became a pillar of the literary and art propaganda team. The trials and tribulations of pursuing art began from then on. He once was admitted to the Art Corps, but failed the political review, and he cried; he was admitted to the Changchun Film Studio to be an actor, and finally passed the political review, and he shed tears again. However, Yu Ke never gave up.
Around 1978, because of his outstanding performance and the recommendation of his mentor, Yu Ke was transferred to work in the Cultural Center. In a good cultural atmosphere, he took advantage of all possible conditions, studied day and night, and continuously improved his theoretical level. In 1982, when the first batch of students were admitted to TVU, Yu Ke was admitted to the Department of Chinese Language and Literature. "Due to non-off-the-job study, the exams for each course are quite strict. At that time, there were more than 370 people studying together in one city. Only 13 people were able to successfully graduate three years later. I was one of these 13 people." Mr. Yu Ke said , in the melting pot of the cultural center, he not only absorbed knowledge about art crazily, but also learned knowledge about Chinese language and literature, so that he could be enriched and perfected step by step.
On the road to art, there are two mentors that he will never forget. The first is Mr. Han Chunxiao who taught drama art, and the second is Mr. Pang Baolong who taught dance art. Mr. Han graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in his early years and has high attainments in drama art. Mr. Pang is the head of the dance department of Shandong Provincial Group Arts Center and has extensive practical experience in dance choreography.
The sincere teachings of the two gentlemen, the multi-faceted and multi-level personal teachings, strict discipline, and conduct have enabled Yu Ke to grow rapidly in terms of artistic knowledge and artistic accomplishment, laying the foundation for better improvement of his artistic level in the future. a solid foundation.
But what is incredible is that Mr. Yu Ke’s graduation certificate and degree certificate have nothing to do with art. One is for Chinese language and literature, the other is for law, and there is no art certificate. However, with diligent self-study and the guidance of his mentor, in the early 1980s, he became familiar with the Stanislavsky directing system of the former Soviet Union and the series of books by Chinese artist Jiao Juyin, which made his path as a director smoother and smoother. People who know Yu Ke well say that he is a particularly inspired person, and his ideas are often unexpected but very effective. He smiled and said, "Many people say that I often come up with good ideas during conversations, or that I have brand-new ideas inadvertently. Once or twice, you can understand it this way. But for a director, most of the time Inspiration comes from long-term pondering and thinking, and long-term artistic accumulation. Only in this way can inspiration be instantly inspired.”
