Duixie

Also known as "Lhasa tap dance", Tibetan folk song and dance.

It is widely popular in all parts of Tibet. In Tibetan, "dui" means "Shang" and "Xie" means song. Duixie refers to folk songs and dances produced in the upper reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River (Lasi, Sakya, Angren and Sakya). In the 13th century (Yuan Dynasty), the economy and culture in Sakya developed in a trap. Because of the appearance of the musical instrument Zamu Nie, it accompanied the local song and dance-Guo Xie. So, gradually formed a fixed prelude, interlude and epilogue.
