The China Youth Symphony Orchestra (NYO-China) is hosted by the China-US Youth Education and Development Foundation and aims to provide top music education resources and performance opportunities for Chinese young music talents - every summer, the China Youth Symphony Orchestra More than a hundred young musical talents aged 14 to 21 selected by the troupe from major colleges and universities will receive two weeks of intensive training, and then the orchestra will perform with well-known solo artists in famous music halls around the world.

The first China Youth Symphony Orchestra was formed in 2017 and collaborated with Yuja Wang and Russian pianist Olga Kern at Carnegie Hall. The orchestra subsequently held a chamber music series in 2018 and a European tour with Garrick Olsen*** in 2019. The orchestra will host a Sinfonietta Series in 2020.

NYO-China’s review process is divided into two rounds of selection: preliminary selection and review. There are 40 primary judges selected from top music academies and professional orchestras such as the Juilliard School, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the New York City Ballet Orchestra, the Boston Ballet Orchestra, and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. During the review stage, a review committee composed of specially invited conductors, artistic directors, and instructors of each instrumental part will personally decide on the candidates.
