Googleplay is a digital application publishing platform. Googleplay, also known as PlayStore (Play Store), formerly known as AndroidMarket, is a digital application publishing platform operated and developed by Google. It is the official application store for devices running the Android operating system, allowing users to browse, download and use applications developed by the Android SDK and published through Google. It is also a digital media store for the Android operating system, including services including Google Play books, Google Play games, Google Play Movies and TV and Google Play Music allow users to browse and download e-books, music, games, and movie and TV series. According to Statista, the number of applications available in Google Play reached 2.56 million in the first quarter of 2020. In October 2020, Google officially closed Google Play Music service, original Google Play music users can switch to YouTube Music service. In July 2023, Google will open the use of mainland UnionPay cards to users in Hong Kong and Macao, and users can add them through the Play Store application.
