Development status
"March 3" is the largest singing fair day in the Zhuang area, also known as the "Song Fairy Festival". According to legend, it is a folk festival to commemorate Senior Sister Liu. In 1984, the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region officially designated this day as the Song Festival, which is the third day of March and the National Day of the Zhuang people. On this day every year, grand concerts are held in Nanning, the capital of the autonomous region, and other places. During the festival, in addition to traditional song fair activities, there are also various entertainment activities, such as setting off fireworks, throwing hydrangeas, touching eggs, performing dragon dances, dancing colorful dragons, poetry contests, showing movies, performing martial arts and acrobatics, etc.
In addition, various types of commercial trade, investment negotiation and other activities have gradually increased, forming a new trend of "cultural stage and economic drama". At that time, guests and friends from all over the world will gather in Zhuang Township, Lingnan, with a sea of ??singing and a huge crowd. The endless singing supports people's yearning for the singer Liu Sanjie and their desire for a good harvest, love, and a happy life.
Liu Sanjie’s ballads have had a profound impact across the country and even the world, showing the charm of traditional Chinese folk art and life culture. It not only has the research value of cultural history to witness national history and emotional expression, but also has the research value of ethnology, anthropology, sociology and aesthetics.
Liu Sanjie’s storytelling has a prominent poetic way of thinking. Its distinctive national character is rooted in the humanistic tradition of society. It has a complete inheritance sequence, rich cultural connotations, wide spread and far-reaching influence.
However, with the disappearance of the Zhuang traditional "singing with songs" and the impact of strong culture and new entertainment methods, folk songs are in danger of being in short supply and being lost, and measures should be taken as soon as possible to protect them.
The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. On May 20, 2006, Liu Sanjie's storytelling was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.
