Otaru Canal
The Xiaozun Canal is located in the port area of Xiaozun City. It is the landmark landscape of Otaru and even Hokkaido. It is also famous for the film Love Letter. The scenery in four seasons is different, especially in winter.
At the beginning of the canal's opening, it was used to load and unload goods, which witnessed the prosperity of the "Northern Wall Street" otaru. Now the canal has been transformed into various handicraft shops, adding more romance to this small town.
You can walk along the canal, giving people a quiet feeling. Nostalgic kerosene lamps and retro brick warehouses all highlight the city's literature and art, and many artists will paint and take pictures on the shore.
You can also visit the Xiaozun Canal, rent bicycles, take a rickshaw in traditional clothes on the shore, and take a boat trip, especially in the brightly lit night.
Xiaozun Music Box Hall (Bieguan)
This somewhat ancient building was built in 19 12 (Meiji 45). The arched windows in Renaissance style, red brick walls made of crimson glazed tiles and corner stones made of natural stones decorated with red bricks are all telling the faint years of nearly a hundred years.
Walking into the music box hall is like entering a fairy tale world. Because this quaint two-story building was originally the warehouse of Gongcheng Co., Ltd., there was no one inside, and thousands of different music boxes dazzled you. Above the space is a suspended attic, a unique music box made of ceramics or glass, which emits warm light in dim light. Turn to the corridor on the second floor, and you will feel that you have come to an exquisite jewelry store. There are many kinds of pendants, either hanging on the wall or packed in boxes. But whether it's a necklace or a pocket watch, everything is related to music.
Xiaozun Music Box Museum (Museum) Main Building
This is a historical building built in 19 12, with a European-style stone retro building outside, a wooden attic design inside and a wooden floor inside, surrounded by the jingle of music boxes in the concert hall. There are exquisite music boxes in the museum, which are made of steel, glass and ceramics in different shapes. It is a good place to buy handwritten letters to kill time. There are more than 3000 kinds of music boxes from all over the world, including doll music boxes and automatic music boxes with high collection value, and many traditional music boxes that are almost invisible in the market at present, which are very ornamental.

Mt.Tengu
Mt.Tengu is the highest point of Otaru. From the top of the mountain, you can overlook the whole city of Otaru. The night view is particularly spectacular. Together with Hakodate Mountain and Sapporo Night View of Yamato Mountain, it is called the three night views of Hokkaido.
You can choose to take a cable car and you can reach the top of the mountain in 4 minutes. The rooftop observation deck at the top of the mountain is the best place to overlook the downtown area of Otaru, and there are three other observation decks around it, which can overlook Otaru from different angles.
Behind the cable car is a statue of a dog with a long nose. It is said that touching its long nose can ward off evil spirits and realize wishes. There are also Tiangou Pavilion and Otaru Ski Archives around the observation deck, all of which can be visited for free.
If you go to Mt.Tengu in winter, the foot of the mountain will become a ski resort. There are not only simple and interesting items such as "hiking in snow boots", but also exciting entertainment items such as "Mt.Tengu Slide".
The beautiful snow scene in Mt.Tengu is also the location of the classic film Love Letter.
