As one of the major coastal hub ports in China, Gaolan Port is the only deep-water port on the west coast of the Pearl River Delta. The main channel is sparse to 188m, and the port coastline is 68km. More than 10,000-300,000-ton berths 150 can be built. It is the best port in the Pearl River Delta.

Gaolan Port belongs to Jinwan District, Zhuhai. Its predecessor is Nanshui Town and Heping Sha Town, which is the westernmost seaside town in Zhuhai.
