The author believes that under the new situation, township cadres should focus on improving their performance ability in three aspects.

Improve learning ability, lay a solid theoretical foundation and improve the quality of performing duties.

With the deepening of the reform of the cadre and personnel system, the overall quality and performance ability of township cadres have been generally improved. However, at present, rural society is in a transitional period, and the construction of new countryside is in a critical period, and various contradictions and problems are intertwined and increasingly prominent. However, some township cadres have outdated ideas, simple and rude working methods, lack the overall concept and sense of responsibility, and have poor ability to lead the masses to get rich, which has damaged the relationship between cadres and the masses, affected the image of the party and the government, and restricted the accelerated development of rural economy and society to a certain extent.

Nowadays, with the rapid development of the times, all kinds of new knowledge, new things, new situations and new problems emerge one after another, and they are updated very quickly. There are more and more things that township cadres don't know, know and master. If they just stay in the present, they will be eliminated by society. Therefore, township cadres must establish the concept of lifelong learning, vigorously improve their learning ability, and constantly strengthen the new concept of "learning ability is competitiveness." Some towns and villages are located in remote mountainous areas with poor working environment, and some towns and villages are adjacent to the suburbs, so the pressure of demolition is great. Township cadres should not only focus on economic development, but also maintain rural stability. In this case, they should have a strong sense of learning and dedication. Second, we should learn to be diligent and good at learning, not only attach importance to the study of ideological and political theory, but also learn all kinds of knowledge in a targeted manner, calm down and study various principles and policies, and strive to become a "walking dictionary" and "knowledgeable person" of agriculture-related policies. In particular, we should seriously grasp the direction of scientific development, further promote the construction of beautiful countryside, lead farmers to develop characteristic agriculture, ecological agriculture, benefit agriculture and high-tech industries, and guide farmers to form agricultural cooperatives, so as to form "one village, one product" and "one town" as soon as possible through group development.

Improve trust, pay attention to the harmonious relationship between cadres and the masses, and win the support of the masses.

The trust of township cadres and farmers has always been a prominent issue in the reform and development of villages and towns. Farmers' trust in township cadres, to a certain extent, has become a key factor for a township to achieve sound and rapid development and maintain a harmonious and stable situation. At present, our society is in a transitional period, and people's awareness of rights, competition, equality, democracy and citizenship is getting stronger and stronger, while service-oriented township government and rural governance mechanism are still being explored and practiced. First, we should improve our work style. The style of township cadres is related to the relationship between the party and the masses and the quality of party style, political style and folk customs. A lot of work in rural areas, whether farmers do it or not, often depends on who speaks. Promote innovation, focus on ensuring the improvement of people's livelihood and promoting rural development.

Innovation is the soul of a nation's development and progress and an inexhaustible motive force for the country's prosperity. Without innovation, there will be no progress of the times; Without innovation, it is impossible to realize the leap-forward development of township work. Township cadres are the most important "bridge" between the party and the masses, policies and practices, and the backbone of developing rural economy and maintaining social stability. Their innovative consciousness and ability are directly related to the rapid development of rural areas and the rapid improvement of people's living standards.

Fourth, focus on social management innovation and quality service to the masses, strive to improve the ability of administration according to law, investigation and research, communication and coordination, public service, psychological adjustment and emergency response, and make township development and improvement of people's livelihood a living reality in front of the masses by studying and popularizing a series of innovative working methods such as "Wen Jianming Work Law" in Sichuan and "Agricultural Village Office" in Guangxi.

Officials are a kind of right and a kind of duty. To manage their rights well, they must perform their duties well. Being an official is a position and a responsibility, so you should take good responsibility for occupying your own position. As the ruling backbone of our party in rural grassroots, township cadres are even more so.
