Like other mothers, Shiyu’s mother also had the same reaction to the classics. I didn’t catch a cold very much. At that time, Shiyan’s House was in the community next to us, a 10-minute walk away. I choose to let nature take its course, be myself, read classics, and spend time with my children.

Occasionally, the kindergarten organizes activities and I see Shiyu Mom, but I have never exchanged anything about classics. In the blink of an eye, the children graduated from kindergarten, and the classic babies and other children who had not studied classics were promoted to elementary school.

At the beginning of elementary school, the gap between children who have read classics and children who have not been accompanied by family reading becomes apparent. In the former case, there is not much problem when it comes to literacy. On the contrary, in the latter, literacy is lacking.

Maybe mothers who don’t have school-age children at home still don’t understand what literacy means to a first-grade child?

Open the primary school Chinese textbook, and there are many Chinese characters in the beginning without phonetic notation. Then there are the various texts, with pinyin. The teacher's pace of teaching is basically one lesson per day. Learn new words and characters every day, and write them down the next day. If a child cannot write, parents will spend more time with their children at home, and both parents and children will be relatively anxious.

With this mentality, the ability of children and parents to learn new knowledge is obviously reduced. If a child really has zero basic knowledge, the parent may be criticized because the homework is not completed well enough. At this time, the parent's mood may also be affected. When the child comes home, the parent will give him a harsh criticism. This creates a vicious cycle.

Then there is mathematics. There is no guarantee of literacy. There may be problems when doing math problems. If you don’t know the words, you can’t understand the questions, your understanding ability can’t keep up, and you can’t do the questions. Although I have learned the simple arithmetic of 1+1=2, it is not enough.

For English, you can also follow the concept of nurturing and accompany your children at home for audio reading.

Without good study habits, children will not adapt to study habits after entering school. Due to the lack of parent-child communication between parents and children on Bible reading or other learning matters, children may still need to adapt to the teacher's guidance.

Therefore, zero foundation does not mean zero preparation. Parent-child companionship under the guidance of the classic concept of education makes it relatively easy for classic babies to enter elementary school. Xianghe, Wenwen and many other children who have been accompanied by parent-child Bible reading have shown relatively stable study habits.

Shiyu and Xianghe were in the same elementary school. Seeing Xianghe’s progress, Shiyu’s mother completely recognized the classic concept of nurturing the heart from the bottom of her heart.
