Behind the scenes production
For the creation of this film, Wong Kar-wai made friends with some underworld people and learned more about their lives before he started directing this film.
Before filming Tears, Tan Jiaming and Wong Kar-wai had two stories about gangs, one about their final success and the other about their failure. Tan Jiaming chose the former, and Wong Kar-wai redefined the second story, so there was Tears.
