Basic introduction and usage skills of MSN

-------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -

I have long heard about the "greatness" of the Microsoft empire. Not only does its operating system dominate most of the home market, but the software it develops has a huge market sensation as soon as it is launched. . For example, in the browser war of the year, once Microsoft bundled IE, it caught up with Netscape's market share. Today, many years later, Microsoft once again bundled the chat software MSN Messenger Serivce (referred to as MSN in this article) with the new operating system Windows The three pillars are "ICQ", "QQ" and "MSN". ICQ and QQ are both software that many netizens are familiar with. Now we will introduce in detail how to use MSN and the differences between them.

MSN installation

Although Microsoft bundles MSN with Windows XP, users using other operating systems have to download MSN. There are downloads in various languages ??from Microsoft's official website. The entire installation file is 1.39M. After installation, run the file to install. All the installation process requires is to agree to the agreement and select "Yes", and MSN will choose the installation path for everything else (is this more in line with Microsoft's dominance)? In fact, the correct installation path is X: Program Files Messenger, and "X" is the drive letter where the operating system is installed.

After the entire installation process is completed, Windows will run MSN by itself and minimize MSN, as shown in Figure 1. At this time, there is a small cross on the MSN icon, indicating that MSN is not logged in normally.

MSN application and login

Double-click the MSN icon with a cross to open the MSN software window, as shown in Figure 2. Left-click "Click here to log in", and the login window shown in Figure 3 will appear. The login name here is not like a string of numbers like ordinary chat software, but an E-mail address. The so-called E-mail address here is not an ordinary mailbox, but must be a free mailbox provided by Microsoft. This string of email addresses is the so-called ".NET Passport". With Passport, you can not only use MSN, but also use Hotmail's free email address and a series of services provided by Microsoft.

If you have a Passport account, there is no need to apply again here. Just fill in your Passport account and password to log in. If not, we will teach you step by step how to apply.

In the first step, click the "Get it here" link in the login window, and the system will automatically open the browser.

The second step is to fill in various information in the new webpage that opens (for countless registration forms, I believe this is a small case).

The third step is to click the "Agree" button to submit the form.

At this time, all application work is completed. The user name you log in is the email address used in the registration form.

I do not recommend this method here, but I recommend applying for an email at www.hotmail.com (Hotmail), where you can get both a free email and Passport. The application process is similar to the above introduction and will not be repeated.
