The disease that Buddhism or meditation should solve is our persistence, our inner greed, anger and infatuation, not our physical illness. This must be distinguished. It is the duty of doctors to treat physical diseases, and it is the specialty of hospitals. The Buddha also got sick before his death and went to see a doctor, which is recorded in Buddhist scriptures.
But we all know that many diseases are actually inseparable from psychology. Therefore, through meditation, some diseases may be improved or cured, but that is not the purpose of meditation. It can only be said that it is an unintentional fruit.
From what has been said above, we can distinguish the essential difference between the so-called naikan therapy and meditation. Is that their purposes are different. Naikan therapy's name for therapy itself illustrates its purpose, and meditation is a method of birth, a religious practice method with the purpose of getting rid of suffering and becoming a Buddha and being a ancestor.
