It is not recommended to get married and have children if you have AIDS. If you are going to get married, you must inform the other party before marriage, because the disease will be transmitted to the other party and also to the children.
AIDS is transmitted through blood, sexual transmission, and mother-to-child vertical transmission. AIDS will not be transmitted without irregular sexual intercourse outside of marriage. Mother-to-child transmission is an infection caused by the mother having AIDS. Blood transfusion is relatively standard, and blood transmission is less common. Currently, homosexual transmission is more common.
Extended information:
At present, there is still a lack of effective drugs to cure HIV infection worldwide. The current treatment goals are: to reduce the viral load to the maximum and lasting extent; to reconstruct and maintain immune function; to improve the quality of life; and to reduce HIV-related morbidity and mortality. The treatment of this disease emphasizes comprehensive treatment, including: general treatment, antiviral treatment, treatment to restore or improve immune function, and treatment of opportunistic infections and malignant tumors.
Latest Progress
On November 6, 2019, a scientific research team led by American researchers obtained the genome sequence of a new strain of HIV. The new strain was confirmed for the first time later this year.
A research paper published in the American Journal of AIDS shows that this new strain belongs to the M group of HIV-1 and is confirmed to be the L subtype. Most patients in the world are infected with HIV strains belonging to HIV-1, of which group M is the most common.
