Formerly known as Shaanxi Forestry School, the Ministry of Forestry has a history of 60 years, and has delivered more than 1 10,000 graduates to enterprises and institutions such as forestry, landscape architecture, tourism and urban construction planning. 1September 1999 17, Yangling Vocational and Technical College was established through merger and reorganization, and the Ministry of Forestry has since entered the fast lane of healthy development.
The Ministry of Forestry has five teaching and research sections: modern forestry, landscape engineering, bioengineering, tourism management and environmental art design. There are six majors in modern forestry technology, landscape engineering, pharmaceutical technology of traditional Chinese medicine, tourism management, hotel management and environmental art design, and two specialized classes in plant chemical engineering and ecological engineering supervision. Students are enrolled in 16 provinces (regions) nationwide, with 1674 students. Among them, landscape engineering major is a reform pilot major in Shaanxi Province, with 422 graduates and 683 students (including urban greening and management major 128). Hotel management major is a two-year pilot program for talents in short supply. The enrollment rate of freshmen in 2004 was 100%. Graduates of Forestry Department are welcomed by employers for their solid professional foundation, strong hands-on ability, strong adaptability and dedication. The Ministry of Forestry focuses on developing 1 ~ 2 new majors in secondary and tertiary industries every year, forming a benign development model of "existing majors-reserve majors-R&D majors" that keeps pace with the times. At present, the professional ratio of forestry department is 1∶3∶4, and the structural adjustment has achieved remarkable results, which has built a platform for future multi-directional development.
At present, the Forestry Department has 1674 students, 92 faculty members, including 52 full-time teachers, 20 part-time teachers, training instructors 1 1 person, 7 double-shouldered teachers and 2 management cadres. The age structure, educational background structure and professional title structure of teachers are basically reasonable, mainly young and middle-aged, and the development trend is good.
At present, the Ministry of Forestry has 17 laboratories with advanced equipment, 1 comprehensive training bases on campus and 17 off-campus training bases, which meet the requirements of talent training in higher vocational colleges.
During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, our department is making unremitting efforts in this direction with the goal of "large scale, excellent quality, strong strength and reform and innovation demonstration department".
