How should we college students realize informatization in the construction of new countryside?
College students "village officials": Sublimating ideals and growing into talents in the vast countryside.

Editor's Note: On April 1 day, 2008, the Organization Department of the Central Committee, the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee and the Ministry of Education held a forum for representatives of college graduates working in villages. At the meeting, Wang Lina and other four representatives of college graduates who worked in villages and towns told their personal experiences of working, exercising and growing up in rural grass-roots units and introduced their experiences of working in rural areas. Wei Huawei and other two representatives of fresh graduates who are going to apply for jobs in the village also made speeches and expressed their determination. The speech materials of these six comrades are now published.

Realize the value of life in the practice of building a new countryside with lofty aspirations and down-to-earth attitude.

Ge Xinhua, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the Neighborhood Committee of Yang Lou Village, Sanshu Township, Sucheng District, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province

My name is Ge Xinhua. I am 24 years old and graduated from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics. Last July, as a member of the101university student village official selected by the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, I was full of passion and hope and went to Yang Lou Village, Sanshu Township, Sucheng District, Suqian City as the deputy secretary of the Party branch.

After I arrived in the village, with the care and training of Party organizations at all levels, I took root in the countryside with peace of mind, got along with the villagers in good faith and served the farmers in good faith, and soon won the trust of local party member, cadres and the masses. On February 8, 2007, I was honored to be elected secretary of the Party branch and director of the neighborhood committee in Yang Lou. My practice and experience are:

First, we must have a firm belief in taking root in the countryside and contributing to society.

When I graduate from college, I have two choices: one is to apply for a job in a counterpart unit in a big city; The second is to continue to study in Nanjing. However, after learning the decision of the provincial party committee and government to send thousands of college students to work in economically weak villages in northern Jiangsu, I made the decision at the first time: to go to the countryside.

My family and neighbors were puzzled by my choice: "I finally went to college and jumped out of the farm gate." How can I return to the countryside? Isn't this university for nothing? " I patiently do my family's ideological work and tell them what I think of chickens and phoenixes: I was admitted to the university, why did so many phoenixes fly out, and the chicken nest was still a chicken nest instead of a chicken nest? The key is the shortage of rural talents. Now the province has formulated such an attractive policy, calling for

College students go to work in the village. If we college students who come out of the countryside don't want to go back to the countryside, we can use what we have learned to help the villagers and add a little vitality to rural development. When will the backwardness of our countryside change? Through in-depth communication, I won the support of my family, and finally passed the strict assessment and screening of the organization, and embarked on the road of village officials as I wished.

Second, we should have the enthusiasm to work hard and serve the masses.

Yang Lou Village, where I live, is called "two provinces for chickens and six townships for dogs" and is located in a remote place. Most of the young and middle-aged laborers work outside the home, and the economic and social development is relatively slow. Faced with this situation, I am not intimidated by difficulties. On the contrary, I told myself again and again in my heart: No matter how difficult it is, I will never be a "defeated soldier", let alone a "deserter", and I will never be looked down upon by others, let alone become our university student village official because of me! With this stubbornness, I started my road as a village official: First, be serious. The provincial party committee and the provincial government require the local government to properly arrange our accommodation in towns and villages. Suqian is more considerate in this respect, single dormitory, TV set and electric fan. However, because the village is still 20 miles away from the village, it is very inconvenient to carry out the work. Therefore, I resolutely moved to a humble hut in the village to live. This move has brought me closer to the people of Yang Lou and our hearts closer.

The second is the real thing. As soon as I arrived in Yang Lou, I started going door to door. Seeing some poor farmers, I often habitually take out some money from me to help them. I often go to the fields to sit on the floor with the villagers and have a heart-to-heart talk. What you see is not a foreign scholar who pretends to show off his knowledge all day, but a simple and honest local village official who is willing to tell me everything, and I have gradually become their "family".

The third is the real move. After in-depth and meticulous investigation, I began to think repeatedly about the countermeasures to accelerate the development of Yang Lou and promote poverty alleviation, and set out to tailor the short, medium and long-term exhibition plan for Yang Lou. At present, the short-term planning of the road smooth plan has been put into practice, and Yang Lou people are full of praise for me: "Secretary Ge is ambitious and can say and do, so it is difficult to find cadres with lanterns."

Third, we must have excellent pioneering and innovative skills and dare to think and do.

After Yang Lou was elected secretary of the Party branch and director of the neighborhood committee, I held several enlarged meetings of the two committees to study and formulate development plans and define goals. During this time, I deeply felt the expectations of Yang Lou people for me and the new team, and felt the responsibility I shouldered. I realize that only by integrating with the people of Yang Lou and doing more practical things, doing good deeds and solving difficult problems for the people of Yang Lou can the people of Yang Lou get rid of poverty and become rich as soon as possible, and live up to expectations. The first is to solve people's worries. At the end of last year, the superior centralized payment of compensation for expressway land occupation, amounting to 900,000 yuan, involving more than 300 households. There are many old contradictions in this work, and a little carelessness will lead to new contradictions.

In order to ensure the smooth payment of compensation, I convened village cadres to study and fully listen to the opinions of the representatives of the masses. In just one week, I came up with a careful plan to ensure the smooth payment of compensation. During the Spring Festival condolence work, I carefully organized and made overall arrangements to distribute the condolence materials distributed by my superiors to poor households in a timely, full, fair and transparent manner. My home is in Xinyi, which is less than a hundred miles away from Yang Lou. There are also sick parents at home, but I didn't go home once in a few months for work. On the first day of this year, I just got home and had a reunion dinner with my parents. On the first day, I went back to the village early in the morning to pay New Year greetings to poor households from door to door, and sent them the care of the village party organization to make them feel the warmth of the party.

The second is to comply with public opinion. Travel difficulty has always been the primary obstacle to local development, and it is also the first problem that Yang Lou people are eager to solve. Through investigation, I came up with four schemes before and after, and finally worked out a scheme of "helping with awards" that cadres and the masses were generally satisfied with: I took out my accumulated salary of 5,000 yuan as a bonus to reward the advanced team of road construction. During the road construction, I ate and lived on the construction site every day. Once, an old man saw me cooking lunch with pancakes and pickles and said with distress, "Son, you are really hard." Driven and influenced by me, the enthusiasm of the whole village to build roads has been mobilized. At the Spring Festival tea party, 37 successful people voluntarily donated 23,050 yuan to build roads and 30 volunteers. Yang Lou is difficult to travel, and it will soon become history.

The third is to help people get rich. There is a glass fiber factory in Yang Lou, which is often shut down due to lack of funds. On the one hand, I coordinate to solve the working capital of 20 thousand yuan, on the other hand, I try my best to solve other difficulties encountered in production for them. Now the production situation of the factory has been greatly improved, not only the products sell well inside and outside the province, but also the employment of a group of surplus labor in the village. In order to develop efficient agriculture in Yang Lou, I contacted many parties, and now I have recruited an agricultural company that provides one-stop agricultural services. It will introduce a batch of high-quality upland rice seeds for us, and guarantee to provide technical guidance and services such as pesticides, fertilizers, weeding and pest control during rice growth.

Looking back on the work I have done since I took office in the village, I have many feelings, but the deepest experience is three points: First, my talents have been well played in the countryside. College students have great potential to work in the village and have a great career platform, so they can fully display their talents and realize their own life value. The development and progress of rural areas need scientific and cultural knowledge, farmers need educated college students like us, and the progress of rural political civilization and spiritual civilization also needs the support of knowledge. As long as we are brave enough to work hard in the vast rural areas, we will become the backbone of building a new countryside and have a bright future.

The second is to improve the ability in practice. After presiding over Yang Lou's work, I became a "primary school student" again, insisting on asking more questions, listening more, taking more notes, making friends with the villagers actively, communicating heart to heart, consulting face to face, conducting serious investigation and research, fully understanding the village situation and public opinion, and understanding what the villagers think and expect. These measures have narrowed the distance between me and the villagers, increased the villagers' sense of identity with me and improved my working ability.

Third, confidence is strengthened in love. I can achieve today's results mainly thanks to the care and guidance of party organizations at all levels. First of all, according to the requirements of the provincial party committee and government, Suqian actively creates conditions, innovates measures and carriers, and regards us as "training reserve cadres, serving outstanding talents and caring for children". Secondly, I had the honor to attend the enlarged meeting of Suqian Municipal Committee, and went to Huaxi Village for residency training, and had face-to-face communication and dialogue with the old secretary of Wu Renbao. It was the organization that built an excellent platform for me to study, live and work, gave me the strength and methods to overcome myself and difficulties, and further strengthened my confidence in taking root at the grassroots level and working hard.

As the saying goes, "the road to Xiongguan is as open as iron, and now I am striding forward from the starting point." I will keep in mind Minister Li's inculcation, take this symposium as a new impetus and a new starting point, practice "overcoming difficulties and moistening things quietly" with practical actions, continue to study hard, exercise hard, be proactive and forge ahead in the vast rural areas, and contribute my wisdom in the process of tackling poverty in economically weak villages.
