Matthew and Marilla are going to adopt a boy and help them with farm work. But when Matthew went to the railway station to pick up the children, he only saw a girl named Annie. Matthew decided to take her home, and Jeanmarie told the girl who was full of hope for her new home the cruel reality. Anne was very happy and chattered on her way back to Green Gable.
Matthew Cuthbert drove his carriage to Brett River. Matthew is a very special person. He is afraid of almost all women except Marilla and Mrs. Linde.
From the outside, Matthew is a little strange: his long hair is iron gray. Matthew went to the station to meet a boy, but he picked up a girl. The girl has a sweet voice and imagination. She talked to Matthew all the way. Matthew likes him very much.
2, amethyst pin
Anne likes the amethyst pin that Maria's mother gave her. She lost the brooch for the outing, thinking it had something to do with Anne, but Anne only admitted wearing it, and Maria was sure it was Anne. Anne had to lie, but Maria, who was furious, still wouldn't let her go. Then Maria found the pin, realized that she had wronged Annie, and quickly "released" her and let her go for an outing as she wished.
Step 3 fight
School started, and Gielbart, the troublemaker, came back. In class, he failed to attract Annie's attention, so he called her "carrot" in a low voice. In a rage, Anne hit him on the head with a slate, but the teacher didn't punish Gielbart for his good grades.
The teacher told everyone to sit quietly, but the children all ran out to play. Anne came back late and came in with the boys. The teacher asked her to sit at the same table with Gielbart! Angry Anne decided not to go to school.
4. Mrs Linda's visit
Maria intended to send Anne back, but the dean mentioned that she would be sent to Mrs. Peter, who is stingy. Maria changed her mind and left Anne to educate her.
Mrs. Linda came to visit (mainly because Maria left Anne instead of another boy) and said that Anne was ugly and her hair was like carrots. Anne was angry for a while and talked back to Mrs. Linda, which led her to leave angrily.
5. Go to school together
Annie and Mrs. Linda went to school together, but Mrs. Linda left first because of the delay in picking flowers and decorating on the way. Anne's dress attracted people's attention. Anne answered the teacher's question, but the teacher ignored her question. When she came home, Anne told Maria. Maria criticized her for not paying attention to her clothes in class, but she rang Anne in the priest's prayer.
