The gods described in "The List of Gods" all lived in caves. To be precise, they were not called gods at that time. They were just cultivators and did not rank in the class of immortals. The order of the world of gods was also unclear. Not established yet. It is precisely because of this reason that they live in the mountains for a long time and do not care about worldly affairs.

What is described here is the early story of the gods. After King Wu defeated Zhou, he was able to become a god. Presumably after everyone was ranked in the Immortal Class, they had a backbone and chose a place for the Immortal Family to live and practice. Only then did the Heavenly Palace and so on appear, and a series of gorgeous and magnificent scenes appeared. 1. Immortals all live in caves

Most of the immortals in the list of gods practice in the mountains, and the best places for cultivation in the mountains are the caves that can be seen everywhere. For ordinary people, these caves may be full of fear and unknown; but for those with Taoism and magic, they are an excellent place for cultivation.

All the positive and negative characters in the play were invited out of the cave, and then joined the world to participate in King Wu's great cause of defeating Zhou. Of course, there are positive and negative aspects of this. With positive help, they all become immortals in the end, but with negative help, they are not so lucky. Not only are their cultivation ruined, but their lives are also hard to save. 2. The cave is suitable for the cultivation and hiding of gods.

Taoist cultivators who want to improve their cultivation level need to find a place with sufficient spiritual energy and a quiet environment so that they can concentrate without any distractions. Many people in the mountains have been practicing for hundreds of thousands of years, and some elder-level figures have been practicing for more than ten thousand years.

Even for such elders, they still practice in caves. This shows that cave practice is a trend and has great benefits. First, it can hide one's whereabouts without being too conspicuous; second, it is more conducive to practice and can improve one's cultivation.

After "The List of Gods", the only people who can practice in caves are monsters, and the rest of the Taoists have either become immortals or are practicing in Taoist temples.
