At this time, there was a village called Chengyi in the lower reaches. There was an old rich man named Hukang in the village. He had a cow at home. When the cow heard that it was going to send water, Cleisthenes shouted, broke the reins and ran away. The cow ran ahead, and Kang Lao, the rich man, chased after him until he reached the Baichi River. He saw the cow run to the river and took a hard drink, and the river that was about to leave the trough was drunk. After a while, the river was full again. When it drank hard again, it was in a hurry, choking on a pile of wheat bran floating in the river, sneezing, and spraying the water out at once. It sees things badly, so it jumps into the river, goes downstream and drinks while walking. The old rich man called for the cow quickly, but he couldn't get it back.

People are obsessed with the benefits of this cow. On New Year's Eve, they will call the cow back to celebrate the New Year, and they will go to the street with lanterns, calling in the direction of the river: "Cow, cow, thanks to your river, it's Spring Festival, so go home quickly!"

Over time, it has become a custom. On New Year's Eve, the villages in this area welcome cows instead of the god of wealth.

In the early years, every New Year's Eve here, when people came back to welcome the God of Wealth, they always folded a few branches of peach trees and placed them on both sides of the door, so that ghosts would not dare to enter the door. Why can mahogany ward off evil spirits?

This was heard by a man who was watching melons in the melon field, and he thought, I'll see if there is a man with a hat on his head crossing the river at noon tomorrow.

Just as I was about to cross the river, I was stopped by the melon watcher. The man crossing the river asked, "What do you want me to do?" The melon watcher said, "I think you are very hot. I told you to eat a melon and let it cool before you go!" " The person crossing the river said, "My family is waiting to cook in a pot!" " The melon watcher added, "It's not bad to wait for cooking." He added, "I picked a big watermelon early, so you can open it and eat it!" The river was big and urgent, and the melon watcher said, "Look, how big the river is! Fortunately, you didn't cross the river, or you just washed away and drowned!" "

After eating melons, it's past noon and the river is getting smaller. The melon watcher said, "You should go now." Those who crossed the river changed their trouser legs, lifted the pot and crossed the river.

The water ghost who crossed the river didn't die, and there was no one to replace him. He had to stay in the river for another three years. The water ghost is very angry. He wants to get even with the melon watcher.

At night, in the moonlit field, the water ghost came straight to the melon house with a whirlwind. When I looked at the melon, I saw that it had long hair, bright eyes and blue fangs, and my heart jumped with fear. At this time, the water ghost said viciously, "Tonight, for the sake of Brother Taomu, otherwise I will punish you." Say that finish, blowing a whirlwind again.

The next morning, the melon watcher looked at the melon house carefully, and there was a peach stick in it. As soon as this story spread, everyone thought that mahogany could avoid ghosts and evil spirits. During the Chinese New Year holiday, in order to prevent ghosts from entering the door, this peach branch is folded and placed by the door. This custom has been passed down until now.

The origin of Grandpa Land

Legend has it that Grandpa Land is the grandfather of Han Xiangzi, one of the Eight Immortals.

after Han Xiangzi became immortal, grandpa was greedy and insisted on asking Xiangzi to take him to Zhongnanshan for practice. Xiangzi said, "Grandpa, cultivation is not as good as your old man thinks. I won't elaborate on suffering, but my heart can't be distracted." Han Xiangzi lifted his grandfather on his back and went to heaven with a shout. At this time, the old man suddenly remembered, how to forget the old woman? If you take her with you, how nice it would be for the old couple to be immortals together! Thinking of this, he shouted loudly and told Xiangzi to stop. Xiangzi suddenly listened to grandpa's shouting, and was taken aback. He loosened his hand and threw the old man down, right on the head of the village. My face is blue, my legs are broken, and touching my heart is already out of breath! The immortal didn't make it, but he became a ghost first.

let alone Han Xiangzi's remorse. The old man died, and the old woman thought during the day and at night. She didn't eat rice or drink water, and soon died. Han Xiangzi buried the two old people where the old man fell. A straw shed was built next to it for the old man's memorial tablet. After three years of guarding the grave and chanting 3721 volumes, transcend's old man's soul ascended to heaven.

The old man used to have a high prestige. He was a "knowledgeable person" and a "peacemaker" in the village, and he had a set of experience in farming. On weekdays, when his neighbors didn't know which mother-in-law quarreled, he went to persuade them to make peace. Everyone respects him very much.

Now, it is said that the soul of Han Xiangzi, who crossed over the old man, has ascended to heaven, ranking among the gods, specializing in one side of the land, and has become a land god. As a result, he got his wish and pooled his money to build a temple to worship the old couple. On the day of the elderly, people come to burn incense and worship the elderly, praying for good weather, abundant crops, harmonious families, less right and wrong, and long-term development will become a custom.
